The San Antonio Spurs have talked to multiple lottery teams about trading Tony Parker in exchange for a high first-round pick in Thursday's draft, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday.

According to Yahoo, the Spurs have had Parker-related discussions with the Toronto Raptors (No. 5) and Sacramento Kings (No. 7) about their lottery selections.

The Kings, who started Beno Udrih at point guard for a majority of the 2010-11 season, appear determined to add a front-line floor general. Sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford that the Kings have also contacted the Denver Nuggets about Raymond Felton.

Interesting. If there window wasn't already closed before, trading away Parker would just about do it.

They must have a lot of faith in George Hill. Either way, if any team could get Parker for a first rounder in this years draft, I think its a huge win.

Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn has decided to fire coach Kurt Rambis, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Kahn isn’t expected to announce the decision until after Thursday’s NBA draft, but he’s already begun collecting information on prospective replacements for Rambis, including University of Washington coach Lorenzo Romar, sources said. The Timberwolves have gathered background on Romar for several weeks, and are expected to make him a candidate to replace Rambis.

Oh god, please don't trade parker unless its for a top 3 pick.
George Hill is good but not Tony Parker good.
We should be looking to offload Jefferson if we're trying to rebuild. Keep Parker, still has at least a couple more seasons of playing at his high level.

I love the Wizards draft.

Jan Vesely is going to be an athletic player. Very un-Euro like.

Chris Singleton will be solid defensively for them

And I like Shelvin Mack

Despite suffering a season-ending knee injury in March, New Orleans Hornets power forward David West is expected to opt out of the final season of his contract this week and become a free agent, according to sources close to the situation.

West has a June 30 deadline in his contract to notify the Hornets whether he will invoke next season's $7.5 million salary or opt for free agency, but sources say that the Hornets are already bracing for West to make his opt-out decision official before Thursday's buzzer.

The Hornets have anticipated all along that West would become a free agent, even though the former All-Star was forced to undergo surgery in April to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered March 24. The reason: West still figures to be one of the two or three most coveted players on the open market in spite of the injury after years of consistent production and averages of 18.9 points and 7.6 rebounds in 70 games last season.

The Hornets, sources said, would still love to sign West to an extension before Thursday's deadline. But it's believed that West -- even in a financial landscape forecasted to be more restrictive starting next season and even factoring in his injury -- will eventually earn more in free agency than he could in an extension that would have to be calculated with next season's $7.5 million salary as a starting point.

Free agency will be delayed if the NBA, as expected, imposes a lockout July 1. But sources say only an unforeseen rehabilitation setback in the next 72 hours would change West's plans.

Bit surprised that he would opt out given the injury he suffered. Must be confident that someone will offer him big money.

Not really surprising imo.

West is a stud and will command much more than 7.5mil regardless of the knee injury. Some one will throw 10mil a season at him.

Norleans has shown its not willing to spend the money it takes to turn them into a threat.

About 36 hours away from the lockout - this totally sucks, one of the best seasons of the past decade, great playoffs with lots of intrigue, ok a weak draft but still plenty of good news heading into summer and we're going to likely be without any ball for the next 6 months.

No doubt he's a stud, and will probably be one of the best free agents on the market.

I just thought that his injury, as serious as it is, would lessen teams interest in him since players that come off ACL surgery generally (along with the long layoff time) take a while to get back to their best.

I think Oden getting offered $9mil a season, is a good indicator that West will get paid.
