Will be an interesting series for sure, Cavs will respond and it is now up to Boston to hold onto it on their home floor, i hope they do cause i want a rematch of the 2008 finals.

Yeah Spurs made a nice comeback late in the 4th. Wonder if Pop will keep Parker coming off the bench. Nash's massive first quarter set things up well for the Suns. Will be a great series. So much history.

Magic comfortably handling the Hawks today. Up by 15 mid-way through the second. Expect the Hawks to maybe grab one game on their home court, but based on the regular season series, can't see us troubling them too much.

Question about the Hawks offense. Is the high number of iso plays they run in games something that they've done all season or is it something that's cropped up in the playoffs?

It's been all season - frustratingly. More so during the fourth quarter, but Johnson and Crawford love taking 15+ foot contested jumpers off the dribble. Now JJ makes a reasonable percentage of these (and by reasonable I mean that they are the lowest percentage shot in basketball and he makes a higher than average (NBA wide) percentage I think), but our offence is just enormously more potent when we play inside out. Smith & Horford are both excellent passing big men, who actually love passing - Smith lead all power forwards in assists this year. But they rarely touch the ball, especially late in a close game. It's why I hope we can sign and trade JJ this summer - it's highly unlikely though. We will never reach our potential with him hogging the ball (not in a Corey Maggette way, but still), but we do need a perimeter player that can create his own shot and hit 3s at a reasonable clip.

The more I watch the Hawks, the more I like your idea of a S&T with JJ or even just letting him walk for nothing. Sure it will make the Hawks worse next season, but for the long run it would be a wise move. No point paying JJ max money (which he probably will get given how many teams have cap space) if he's not going to make you a serious contendor.

Game ends with Orlando winning 114-71. Brutal. Seeing Gortat doing his thing in garbage time was fun.

Not really surprising must say - they thrashed us during the regular season (average margin of victory in their 3 wins was 22 points) but thought it might have been a bit closer than that!

I was pining for us to trade JJ at the deadline because I knew it would be near impossible to sign and trade him to one of the big free agent teams and get a nice piece back. He's a solid second option - he just thinks he's a first option. Unfortunately his career performances suggest otherwise. I know this much - whichever team signs him to a max contract will end up regretting it, unless LeBron signs there as well.

Wonder whether the Hawks would bring Childress back if JJ did leave.

End of the first quarter for LA vs Utah. Artest leading all scorers. I'm so confused. Loving Kobe's game atm.

Zero possibility of that happening at this stage - both sides were left with bad tastes in their mouths. We do still have his rights I think, and understand we continue to have these year on year so there's another sign and trade possibility if another NBA team wants him. Last I heard he wasn't exactly impressing in Europe and he was only ever a mid-level type of player to begin with.

Great game from Timmy. RJ actually contributed. Frye was making it rain from the downtown. Suns in a good position but if there is a team that can come back from 0-2, its SA.
