Great win by the Lakers. I think this series has shown that can't win it this season. Wouldnt be surprised if Utah oust them.

Just witnessed the dumbest defensive posession I've ever seen.

Cavs up 98-93. It's Cavs ball with 35 seconds left. Instead of intentionally fouling (or at least pressing the ball handler hard) Celtics just lay off on defense. As a result, Lebron winds some clock down and then steps up and hits a 3 to kill the game. Just dumbfouding.

Lakers win Game 1 over Utah 104-99. Bit worried about Bynum's knee. Apparently he has a small meniscus tear. Liked JVG's point in commentary about Bynum getting the required surgery now (and missing about 2 weeks) and then coming back healthy for the WCF. It seems that they'll just keep Bynum going and try and restrict his minutes.

I think LA can take care of Utah without Bynum. Utah don't have anyone that can match up with Odom, especially with AK-47 out.

Rather face the Jazz than the Thunder. Besides Williams/Fish (Fish against anyone tbh), the Lakers match up alot better this series....

Yeh, good win this morning and good to see Kobe have a productive shooting night (12-19) and he came out big in the ends with some clutch baskets, bring on the rest of the series.

Only taken him all season!!

I've said before that he is, for me, the most disappointing player I've ever seen, in terms of potential. A dude with an unblockable turn-around J to go with his footwork and moves in the post and 3-point range (albeit inconsistent) should have gone down averaging 20+ a game for his career. Instead people are going to remember his tech record from a few years ago - 40-odd wasn't it? - and his penchant for jacking up 3s.

Celtics up by 15 midway through the 3rd, lets see if they can hold the lead this time.

I was worried that the Celtics had missed their chance to take a game in Cleveland in Game 1, but they seem to be getting it done now.

Funnily enough was checking Sheed's career stats the other day. His career 3PT stats make for some amusing reading. In his first five seasons, he didn't attempt many 3s. Averaged about 0.5 attempts from down-town a game. Then in the 2000-01 season, he spiked up to 2.1 three point attempts per game. Significant spike sure, but it was sort of acceptable. Then in the 2001-2002, he spiked up to 4 three point attempts a game . He's never recovered.

And when you think that Game 1 was also there for the taking for the Celts, not a good start to the series for Cleveland. Maybe this is the jolt they needed?

Spurs vs Suns underway.
