Sactown needs a point guard so they can slide tyreke too the 2guard spot. See Tmacs dunk yesterday? he got up like he was still wearing a magic jersey.

Was watching that Bulls / Lakers game - could not believe in the first quarter they didn't go to Boozer at all. Then JVG said it and his old assistant Thibodeau must have got the message because they started incorporating their $80m man and got the result. No way Odom can handle Boozer's strength, and it showed.

Like the way that Rose doesn't force threes - he (mostly) only takes the wide-open variety off the kick out where he sets his feet and has balance. Knows his strengths and weaknesses, should only keep getting better. If he can start hitting threes off the dribble, look out.

funny pic aside.. interesting how much Boozers rebs are down compared to the last few years

I think alot if it has to do with playing alongside Noah who is a vacuum cleaner around the basket. Also Boozer still averaging just 27 mins a game atm

Haha smooth

The 2009-10 Lakers met with President Obama yesterday, which happened to only be a few days after Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls beat Los Angeles 88-84.

Obama you see, is a Bulls fan. So naturally, the president saw an opportunity to zing Kobe. What Obama probably wasn't ready for, was for Kobe to zing him right back. Via ESPN LA:
"Derrick Rose may have your number," President Obama lightheartedly jabbed at Kobe Bryant as the team posed for a photograph after presenting the president with an autographed replica 2009-10 championship banner, like the one that hangs at Staples Center.
"I said, 'If he calls that number, I'll be sure to pick up after the fifth ring,'" Bryant quipped back -- referring, naturally, to the five championship rings he has.
And boom goes the dynamite.

Haha loved that call from Kobe, also there has been a massive power shift in the NBA, a trade should go down in the next couple of days.

Nets, Lakers, Rockets are in advanced talks on 3-way deal sending T. WIlliams to HOU, S. Vujacic and a future HOU 1st to NJ, sources tell Y!Sources say 3-way deal isn't finalized and likely won't be before Wednesday. Still financial considerations that could be adjusted. Also included in deal, sources say: Nets' Joe Smith goes to LA and Lakers send 2011 1st rounder to NJ. Also, HOU sends NJ a '12 1st pick..

Sasha is goneeeeeeeee :) and the Lakers get another big body even if he is an old man lol

I dunno how I'm gonna handle watching a Lakers game without seeing Sasha riding the pine. It does save the team alot of money though.

Am surprised to see the Nets already giving up on T-Will. Is an amazing athlete and a pretty decent playmaker.

Joe Smith ain't much chop these days, but he can serve a useful role on a good team. I'm sure the Lakers don't want Gasol playing 40 minutes a night plus with Ratliff's injury and Bynum working his way back, he'll be useful depth (considering how completely overwhelmed Caracter is at the NBA level).

Surprised the Nets are giving up Williams but he is a bit of a nut-job and this gives them potentially 5 first round picks over the next two drafts.

As for Houston, they're just stock-piling talent and they've no doubt got another trade in mind with the number of decent guards and wings they've got (Brooks, Martin, Lee, Lowery, Battier, Budinger and now Williams).

LA also get Joe Smith though and he is a nice 11th or 12th man especially when you consider the health issues they have there. Also reports are he is a very good locker room guy... Whatever that means these days

I found this interesting

The Trail Blazers inquired with the Hawks about the availability of Jamal Crawford, reports the Oregonian.
The paper cited a Portland player and another source within the organization.
Trail Blazers general manager Rich Cho wasn't successful in talks as the Hawks declined to discuss Crawford.

I don't know why the Hawks said no to this? They must really like Crawford. I thought they were not going to re-sign him next year?

If I am the Hawks I would have asked for Camby so you could play Horford at the 4. Bibby/Johnson/Smith/Horford/Camby... Hmm. I know Crawford can spark you off the bench but I thought they had a big C issue in that they wanted Horford to be a 4(I haven't watched them this year so I don't really know). That is if Portland wants to give Camby up given the health issues of Oden, Przybilla etc

It looks as if the Nets are getting alot of 1st round picks for a potential trade with the Nuggest for Anthony.

The problem with that is Smith isn't a three. I know he's been draining outside shots at a respectable rate this year, but I fully expect that to even out over the course of the year. Quicker 3s also beat him regularly off the dribble. If we trade for a true 5, then we'd have to move one of Smith or Horford IMO. Considering both have been among the best performed big men this year, and that Horford is defending big 5s better than ever (a weak point in previous years), I'm not sure it's needed. Certainly need some depth up front but Camby is too costly just for depth.

I'm all for moving Crawford and would be happy with two MLE-range players, filling depth at the point and a big. But it's not that we flat out won't re-sign Jamal, or that we wouldn't extend him, it's just that he obviously wants something close to what he's on now ($10m-ish) guaranteed for 5 years, whereas we'd rather get him for something closer to the MLE moving forward (given he's over 30 now).

A trade with Portland for Fernandez and Pryzbila (expiring as well) would suit me. Fernandez gives us 80% of Crawford at a 1/10th of the price, Pryzbila gives good depth up front for a run in the playoffs and we'd save a couple mill in salary. But with Oden out, would Portland be prepared to trade Joel?

Thats what i'm thinking as well, i thought is was weird they would T-Will and get Sasha and 1st rd draft pick, then i heard Denver want more draft picks.

Hey Ridders, not sure about Sasha riding the pine, but he is the lucky man who rides Maria :D

Fair enough about Smith not being a 3... I thought he could still play it night in night out.

The Bulls and Nuggets are discussing a trade that would send J.R. Smith to Chicago.
The Denver guard is in the final year of his contract and would give the Bulls another scoring option in their backcourt.

^ interesting considering the bulls traded Smith a few years back because of his attitude for a packet of chips.

In all honesty, I think that Smith trade will put the Bulls over the top. Maybe not this year, but given a while to gel etc, a Rose-Smith-Deng-Boozer-Noah starting 5 is friggin awesome. Not that old either.

I like JR but I don't see the bulls being able to land him.

Also some rumours on twitter that Melo has been dealt... Murphy, Favors and picks from a denver news twitter..

edit - just looked further and the twitter account has been called out as fake haha. Gee I wish denver would just trade him already

Here is a Kobe gif that made me lol
