Gotta say, unless there are some significant other elements to the trade, I'm not pleased about this one as a Magic fan.

Arenas doesn't significantly improve the Magic (not a big enough upgrade on Vince), doesn't transform us into a Finals favourite or anything like. Just gives us another injury prone, headcase with an enormous contract that is three years longer than Vince's.

No thanks.

So many rumors happening now, Lewis for Arenas, Lewis/Carter/Orton for Arenas/Blatche, may also be a third team involved lol, looks as though Dwight is pushing a trade, they have to keep the franchise player happy i guess, like D Wade and Paul Pierce did as well.

I'm not sure why Arenas either, can he defend the likes of Kobe, Ray Allen or D Wade better than VC, i doubt it, its all because if Otis Smith's love for Agent Zero.

That, and being in a slump whilst the Heat are streaking might make Otis desperate enough to pull the trigger.

What a season he is having, the guy is a beast and really should be an all star but i doubt he makes it.

ESPN's Ric Bucher wrote on Thursday that he heard the Trail Blazers offered Nicolas Batum and Joel Przybilla in a trade for Andre Iguodala, but the 76ers "didn't bite." Link
I would have pulled the trigger. I like Iggy but the 76ers are stuck in the middle of the pack and need to get out of these big contracts while possible.

The suns are going to be the interesting team after these trades. I've read that they may look into flipping Carter and fillers for Iggy and Brand. Nash/Iggy/Hill/Brand/Gortat (with childress, lopez, frye, pietrus) enough to get out of the first round?

Imagine if they had just drafted Iggy 6 years ago instead of signing (or trading for, can't remember) Marcus Banks....

The story goes that they agreed to trade their pick the day before the draft because they were told Iggy, who they were in love with, would get taken by the hawks(I think) and they couldn't trade up. Then when the draft came along they couldn't back out of the deal.. Ouch... Awesome luck for Philly that the raptors took Araujo!

Not a great start for the new look Magic, going down 91-81 to the Hawks, but it was always going to take a bit of time.

Speaking of the Hawks, gotta give credit to Joe Johnson, who I see has returned from his injury. Wasn't he supposed to be out for a month or two? And he's returned in less than 3 weeks. Good on him.

Philly should be desperate to loose Iggy, he just isnt a good first option for any team, he would be perfect for a team with atleast one player better then himself, maybe the knicks or the Jazz or even the spurs.

As the recent Team USA experience showed us. He's a terrific defender, and always has been. Iirc when Iverson was still in Philly, Iggy was primarily noted for his great defensive abilities (and flashy dunks).

^Yes Iggy is great defender and an awesome athlete but his handle is pretty terrible, which is why he would compliment a true superstar very well. Its a shame he didnt develop into the player philly thought he would.

Lakers just got crushed at home by 19 points verse an extremely undermanned Bucks.

Kobe has a sook at the end and got ejected, was beautiful.

8th loss in nine games for Magic - should Magic fans be concerned?

I would be if I were a magic fan but at the same time i would wait a few weeks to see how all the new players come together. Does anyone think they will make any more trades? Im still not convinced the ones they made has made them that much better, they need some perimeter D, Dwight can't block everything.
