Shattered I missed it. Kobe what a man. Doesn't seem as though he missed a beat.

For anyone that watched, how were Yao's minutes distributed? Did he play down the stretch? Noticed that he logged 23 minutes so they kept to the minutes cap.

He fouled out. I think I recall the commentators saying he played a 9 minute first quarter even though they only wanted him playing 6. It would have been interesting to see if they would have broken the minutes cap first game, had he not fouled out.

They used Yao for the first 6mins then brought him back on midway through the 2nd quarter and similar in the 2nd half, he got fouled out right on his 24th minute lol

Haha might as well if he's going to be taken of anyway.

Back to the Heat game, especially when Wade was on the court, Lebron seemed to try and post up alot more than in previous years. While his strength allowed him to back down Pierce fairly easily, his post-moves looked very raw. Just looked un-natural to him. Will take time I guess.

And how about Rondo eh? Finished with 17 assists.

As great as Boston looked at times, don't want to get too carried away since they did the exact same thing last season. Started like a house on fire, but eventually petered of and played .500 ball to end the season.

Will be interesting to see if they can maintain the intensity throughout the season (not that they really need to).

In regards to the Heat, their offense looked dynsfunctional, although that was partly to be expected. And having your first game against one of the league's best defences can't exactly have helped. They could really use some more outside shooting though.
They had injuries and they also know they only have to make it to top 4 and they'll be fine they don't really need to go hard for the best record aslong as they're near the top they'll take it easy and stay fresh for the long playoffs run.

Can anyone really see the Heat knocking off the Lakers? The lakers can bring off some bench power for 5 minutes who do the Heat have when things aren't going their way from their starters??

Evan Turner off the bench today with 16 points, 7 rebs, 4 ast and a block.

Niiiiiice. The guy is going to be very good. I just hope the Philly media doesn't kill him if he has a few quiet games. I didn't see the game but from reading up it seems he went after Wade and Lebron.

And lol at Shelden Williams grabbing 16 rebounds. Tiger will be thrilled.
haha, I'm on record as saying that if there's one thing he can do, it's rebound. It's wasting a top 5 pick on a guy who's sole value is rebounding that's aggravating.

K-Love didn't play the last 8 minutes of the Sacramento game, might be why they lost. I've said a few times that he's going to leave at first opportunity, and playing 24 minutes in the season opener whilst Tolliver plays 28 is only going to add fuel to the fire.

Tim Duncan also had a stellar opening night, 10-12 shooting for 23-12-3-3-4.

And man oh man, Blake Griffin.......what a beast. Probably needs to reign it in a little otherwise I can easily see another injury or 10, but you've gotta love the way he plays.
