I wouldn't be confident in having Gordon as my primary ball handler. I think he'd be best with a playmaking PG next to him. I wonder if we'll see them promote Bledsoe back into the starting lineup? (although Mo will in all likelyhood get the start).
Mo is definitely the better shooter, although he's been shooting absymally (is that a word?) this season. Something like 38% FG% and 26% 3PT%. In saying that, I'd expect that to improve as his situation's improved and him to shoot near his career numbers.
My final judgement on the trade will probably rest on what pick that Clippers No.1 ends up being.
With Mo and Gordon to share the ball-handling it's not that bad. Plus before he went down, Gordon was making a huge case for MIP - his assist numbers, turnover ratio and usage rate were way up. So he's not that bad a ball-handler.
But also check out Griffin's passing numbers. I've mentioned it before, but they've improved month on month as he's become more comfortable passing out of double teams. With dead-eye shooters in Mo & Gordon, as opposed to Brick Davis, that's only good things for the Clippers.
That Brooks trade is interesting as well. Thought Dragic was being groomed as Nash's replacement? Brooks is a shoot-first point so I don't see him fitting in with the current Suns but if Nash is moved over the summer then maybe they'll re-tool around Brooks.
Thabeet, man what a bust. I actually think I'd rather have Darko than that chump. Or even the Kandi Man.
