the best thing is marshall at second reciever. It seemed to go ok against the cowboys. Who knows the broncos may be wary of Fitzy given that move against the Raiders. Much prefer him to the other options.

Who else is there? I said before the match last week that Ayshford would offer nothing and cough trys, which he did. 2 directly his responsibility... a 3rd could be argued for. I suggested playing a defensive second rower there and relying on the others for points... At least Fitzy can attack and, as mentioned before, is probably familiar with our plays. He's played plenty of half back so far this season and has looked alright for a fill in. Even if it was just shifting the footy properly for the other guys to have a crack.

Fitzy hasn't got the vision for a 6 or a 7. They are specialist position. You need someone who can read a game. Fitzy is just a broken field runner. f**k me, just bring in the 18th man - Waters (a specialist 7 or 9) to cover 7 and leave the rest as is. f**k me.

Last week you all said we just needed someone to catch and pass. We put Ayshford there and it failed. Just like it's failed whenever we've played somebody out of position there.

What is going to be different this week? Nothing.

It's failed for the last four years, it failed last week, it will fail again this week. But Sheens will keep trying it...over and over again.

What this year has also proved is that when you do put a proper half there Benji sh*ts his pants because he hasn't had as much training time with the guy and Farah tries to shift across to halfback and everything goes to hell

Thank you Tom Shines for making this Friday night that more interesting...and giving the Broncos an increased chance of winning (from 10% without Fitzy to at least a 45% chance with him at halfback)

Farah and Benji will share the "1st receiver role" and Fitzy will play alot from dummy half and the occasional 5/8 role. Same old sheet.

Yup, pretty much my thoughts.

I'd like to see them alot more settled though.

After watching NSW spit in Robbies face on Monday, there is no reason to not play him @ 7 if he is the best option, which in that 17 he is.

Yes it's not his role, but if we have Fitzy playing as a hooker, Robbie as a half, and Benji having that extra room @ 5/8 for most of the night, our attack will look a hell of a lot better.

If Fitzhenry has to be in the starting 13, I'd much prefer to see him @ hooker moreso than anywhere else.

Having not watched Wests can't make a comment on Waters but he can't be THAT bad given their high ladder position. Laz failed, maybe it's time to give Waters a real crack? How long before Lui is back?

Was never allowed to play at halfback for any time whilst on the field.

Farah cut him out with a pass on the last to find Heighno. That alone should demonstrate how under utilised he was

"Beau Knows more than Tom Shines"

Today Beau knows more than Tim Sheens....Beau knows never to play Daniel Fitzhenry at halfback.
Beau knows that you should never weaken a strength to strengthen a weakness - Robbie Farah to halfback.
Beau knows that you should always pick the right players on the bench and use them...especially when it is early in the season and the weather is warm.
Beau knows that if the Tigers miss out on the 8 this year, my new coach will be Steve Folkes or Stephen Kearney.

Nope. It will be the King again, because Beau knows the coach will never step down in disgrace... We'll have to wait another year for Kearney.

Lazarus won't be returning to first grade in a hurry.

Bringing Waters in is a pretty good indication.

Fitzy at 7 is like a wet blanket on our offence.

From what I can find, it appears this will be the first time Fitzy runs out with the number 7 on his back (Not saying he hasn't filled in at halfback before, but that it is his first dig starting at 7)

I said we needed some one to catch and pass and to tackle. Ayshford did neither of these things. That he was the key man in the loss is undeniable, a quick look at the Dragons trys shows he was solely and directly responsible for some crucial trys.

I also said we're basically f**ked as we don't have a half in the squad, something I've said since our recruiting finished.

Fitzhenry HAS played half this year, at stages, and we HAVE won the matches. (FFS don't ask me which game(s), there's not a chance of me remembering).

Lazurus is sh*t house. I'm sick of people saying he didn't play half because he didn't defend in the middle. He played half, the way the WT play a half, and he was awful at it. Not only did he f**k up everything he tried, he constantly ran through the middle of every one else's plays.

Sure, he probably didn't know what was going on, but if we're going to train some one up, can we get some one bigger than a toy doll?

Havoc.... I agree with you, but do we really have a better option? Is Waters an NRL premiership winning half? Should we back end the f**k out of a contract to get Finch?

I find it amazing that with WT having the benefit of 2 x State Cup teams plus the NYC we continue to have difficulty with emergency replacement from lower grades of a halfback.

Someone in a past thread made the observation that Sheens has the WT NRL 'in crowd' (say 25 odd players) so drilled with set plays that ity is impossible for someone to fill in from lower grades and take the opportunity. It has to be someone from the 'in crowd' as only they know the plays.

The analogy I think was WT are a F1 race car vs V8 Supercars for the rest of the NRL. When WT fire its magnificent but too much time spent off the track in maintenace compared the the V8's................. (Something like that anyway)
