a johns earmarked Bradman as the next big thing , and sure he is on top coin ..Safiti is good n strong if he stays healthy . Both good buys along with Tracey for the right price

Joey earmarks every 2nd youngsters as the next best thing. I wouldn't put too much value into his inputs regarding future talent. Best is one dimensional & a bit over-rated. His defence is a bit suspect but main thing is he's no improvement on our current centres.

Tracey sounds like an ideal replacement for Ramsey's cash in 2023.. but I imagine he isn't for sale this year.. not unless the sharks are desperate for cash.

And unfortunately every day/week that the coaching negotiations continue.. our chances of landing quality players for 2023 or 2024 fly by.. I know we don't want to 'rush' the new coach appointment, even though that process should have been underway for the last 12 months, but certainly in earnest for the past 3 months ago... but how long exactly does our club need to make something happen..

Many players have been touted as 'the next big thing' too often. Jai Field, Drew Hutchison (lol), Ash Taylor (feel bad for the bloke), Kane Elgey although he left rugby league on his own terms. Ironically, it's a lot of the ones who weren't being written about extensively that have shone the most.

Remember we had 2 brothers played in the halves came from Union , Joey saw them play one time and wanted them in First grade, their surname was Kennedy i'm pretty sure, but you are right he see's a player do a flick pass in the lower grades, goes on about it as they're the next big thing..

So are you questioning JDB on form or off field issues??
Both actually
1st I was given to understand he was marked never to represent again

2nd IMO there are better players than him to fill the various spots in the NSW team. Yes he is a work horse for us and stands out but nothing out of the box in attack and NSW already has enough work horses who actually offer a bit more.

There is no doubt St GI supporters love to talk up our roster and also those that leave and make 1st grade elsewhere.

No doubt the Tristan Sailor is a legend that we let go threads / posts will soon pop up now that he will make his Bronco debut.

Regarding form. Do you think Jake Trbojevic would have been selected because he offers anything other than ferocious middle defence, which is what you want in SOO??

Regarding off field. This wasn't a O.J. Simpson, case closed, but found not guilty, from a bias jury.
I've released an inmate early once , when their accuser let slip to the new boyfriend that her testimony wasn't exactly what occurred.
I do have 3 girls & worked in Long Bay sex offenders Gaol, so I don't have any liking to anyone who commits such crimes what so ever.
JDB's passion is exactly what SOO ask for.

Well as I said Fittler is a dumb arse and IMO shouldn't have had Jake on the radar either. You won't out tackle Qld to win the game let alone the series you have to outscore them and for sure you need to be ahead by more than 6 with 10 to go.

Re De Belin he was supported by this club and and also given a substantial upgrade and repaid it by attending an event that should never have occurred and compounded his stupidity by hiding under a bed.

So without even touching on the subject of cheating on his pregnant partner Jack doesn't appear to have many brains let alone a strong moral compass.

Now besides all that there are better props and locks than him simple as that.

Fair points, but take out all those dumb ass actions, he bleeds red & white & is our best option for captain in this crop of players, Hunt included.

Actually, thinking about the BBQ event, I think there is more to say about the (no-respect) they had in the coach, if reports of the lack of communication & approachability they had from him have any truth? Hence he was told to change his communication with players during the off-season but that still wasn't enough to stop him from being punted!!!!!!

Come on the bbq affair is all on the players nothing to do with Hook or anyone else.

Sims said openly he wouldn't have attended nor Hunt so that should have doubly applied for De Belin the arrogant prick.

No way should he have been given the captaincy that is a complete slur on the many decent people who have gone before him.

I wonder if cake had of been playing whether he would have got the gig or perhaps Sua but I suppose we will never know.

So for mine it should have been Lomax or Bird and just when we needed Woodsy we didn't have him lol.

So our choices are Lomax the mug lair, Bird who thinks the fans are idiots, or JDB the Under the bed man.

I really miss Steve Edge.

I'm excited for JDB's captainship, he was always the forward leader on the field (pre-shenanigans), and he probably wont ever reach the level he did back then.. but he's already leagues (many leagues) above every other prop we have at the club.. his effort and intensity.. his defence.. his endurance.. his passion... I love that he is leading the team song again also.. I don't mind the larikan side of him.. I think we sometimes want everyone to be serious and miserable.. and I don't think that leads to a good team environment either.. and I don't think JDB shirks any of his training.. I do wish he would grow up a bit off the field, and maybe the leadership role will help.

I understand hes not the 'dream captain', neither is Hunt, nor was Widdop.. but until said captain comes along (or we can buy one in), I think he's a much better choice than the others.. I can't even be sure any of the current 30 man squads are going to be here in 2yrs time (including JDB), other than maybe young Couchman.. but he's no where near ready for captainship.

NSW Duties are another story, I think JDB would do a better job than many.. but at his age, if im coach, im probably looking to blood a longterm prospect.. but if there are enough injuries and he keeps killing it.. its possible.

Tariq proved that by getting a gig in NSW. Look at him flying now not reaching the bench in Melbourne
Our choice not to pay him the big$$$ is looking a mighty smart one right now

One of the journos was asked about him on radio last year going into game 3 and his reply was along the lines of “he won’t be considered” now his form wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either but just the dismissive way it was said indicated to me that it wouldn’t matter.
