Idris is exactly the type of footballer that we need to sign. He is young, talented and has commercial factor about him. He also fits our type of centre, strong and robust and capable of making meters.
If there is a remote chance, we need to sign him.
Bird needs to go to the centres next year as well. Which would mean putting Beale on the wing.
Gagan, if fit, for the other spot. I like Feki, but apart from kick returns, he doesn't offer much.

Chad is a done deal, despite a plea from the Warriors to stay. He is an upgrade on Robbo but we need another halves partner for him. I do however, feel that Chad could allow another shot for BB to play 5/8, as we would actually have a half capable of kicking long, and organising. I watched Chad very closely on Saturday night and whilst he isn't amazing, he leads a kick chase well, and can kick long.

My actual preference would be to sign Chad and Sandow and admit defeat with Barba and release him, even if we have to take a cap hit. Brisbane are still paying a chunk of his salary next year and it would only be 2017 that would hurt us.

Chad and Sandow would provide us with 2 kickers either side of the ruck and a bit of creativity.

And I will go against popular opinion, but I am not convinced about Holmes at fullback yet. He hasn't scored an NRL try from fullback, and his main breaks have come from the wing. Next year I feel will be his better year for us.

Rumours going around that Gordon and Flanno have fallen out over Gordon not wanting to play on the wing.
Parra want him for this year and next, so if we have a chance to make a trade and get Lussick from them, I would pack Gordon's bags for him.

Nu Brown is targeting a round 20 comeback, which would also ease some pressure on the team.

Chad does nothing for me
Deadset only maybe outplayed Robbo ... If Robbo didn't have the brain snap I'd say he outplays Chad.

Chad Townsend:

11 Runs 87m - 1 Try Assist - 5 Tackle Breaks - 29 Tackles - 1 Line Break Assist - 1 Penalty Conceded - 4 Kicks 87m

Jeff Robson:

6 Runs 31m - 20 Tackles - 1 Error - 1 Penalty Conceeded - 7 Kicks 186m

Yep Robson totally outplayed Chad....

He had a bog average game as he always does.

That is not selling it to me.

Have a go at how much more room Chad had.

He'll be crucified within a month ( in here ) if he comes back.

Robbo should have a try assist on his stats as the is a match winning halfback.
Too bad it was for them and not us.

CB, i think problem with Holmes is that hasnt had a chance to settle at FB, he gets moved around so often dosent help when trying to find legs.

On Gordon i thought he left Panthers for same reason not wanting to play wing.

Barba, If he goes to 7's in Union, we might avoid cap hit

Why do we want to sign these been around the block types.

Just starting picking the eye out of 20's

Holmes and bird are reasonably settled could quite easily blood another couple of juniors especially when we have quite a few old heads in the team.

Parramatta's plans to replace Jarryd Hayne with Cronulla fullback Michael Gordon have been scuppered at the last minute after the Sharks backflipped on the mid-season transfer.
The Eels have struggled to fill the void left by the departure of Hayne to the NFL and have been scouring the market for a No.1 before the June 30 deadline. They thought they had their man in Gordon, who is off contract at the end of the season and yet to receive an offer to extend his stay in the Sutherland Shire.

The Sharks were also poised to release Blake Ayshford to St George Illawarra and Sam Tagataese to the Roosters to relieve salary cap pressures. All of the mid-season transfers were agreed to in-principle and Gordon was even on his way to Eels training last week in the hope of getting the paperwork done in time for Sunday's clash with Melbourne at Pirtek Stadium.
However, it's understood Sharks CEO Lyall Gorman blocked the moves at the last moment, leaving the players and clubs in limbo.

The Eels have tried William Hopoate at fullback but the NSW three-quarter struggled to make the expected impact and the move was aborted. In recent weeks, Reece Robinson has moved from the wing to the custodian position, but he is seen only as a stop-gap option. Parramatta officials have high hopes for NYC fullback Bevan French, believing he will be the long-term replacement for Hayne. However, they believe it may be too early to pitch him into first grade and would like an experienced campaigner such as Gordon to mentor him and assist with the transition. Gordon, a former NSW representative who didn't play on the weekend citing a shoulder injury, was poised to accept an offer which would have covered this year and next.

The Sharks and Eels had previously come to a similar arrangement last with Isaac De Gois, who was struggling for game time behind hookers John Morris and Michael Lichaa. The mid-season transfer allowed De Gois to cover for Nathan Peats, who suffered a season-ending injury.
Gordon has been a solid contributor for the Sharks since switching from Penrith in 2013 but has been struggling to get game time in his preferred position of fullback since the arrival of Ben Barba and the emergence of Valentine Holmes. Mitch Brown replaced him for the clash against the Warriors. Gordon is believed to be furious with Cronulla's about-face.
Gorman, Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan and Eels CEO Scott Seward weren't available for comment.

The Dragons were looking to bolster their three-quarter stocks after Dane Nielsen was punted for an alcohol-fuelled incident and had earmarked Ayshford as their target. The Roosters were also hoping to add Tagataese to their roster but that move also appears in jeopardy unless there is a change of heart from Sharks management.
The Sharks are in the market for a half and have been linked to Roosters playmakers James Maloney and Jackson Hastings.

I don't like the part about Gorman getting involved, but then again sounds like some shit is starting to go down. WHere theres smoke.. FFS get Ayshford out of here.

Reading into it, maybe the blowup between Gordon and coach flange was after the transfer was supposed to take place? Rather than being the cause of the attempted release.
