Change the coach, wont make a difference as long as Fulton picks the team.

Yup. What odds that Dylan Walker will still get picked for NSW? Only people who thought he would be a world beater off the bench for NSW were the idiots who picked him as no one else did.

The squad will stay the same barring Dugan making a miraculous recovery

Pick and stick works really well guys. That's why we've won 1 series since 2006

Pick and stick hasn't even been tried if your name isn't Pearce. Still can't figure out how the Reynolds Hodkinson combo was dropped after winning a series

Talking about mainly the forwards / dummy half. I'd keep the halves as it is

Peats should have been there for the good of the future but it's too late to bring him in now while the series is on the line

Wait until we lose game 2 then blood him in game 3 I guess

Dylan Walker must be the worst origin selection ever well done Bozo, one of the most blatantly biased rep selections I've seen.

The other 3 debutants were ok, Moylan had some good moments and some bad ones. Reynolds was solid but his kicking just wasn't there for us and Mansour didn't get much opportunity.

I think all we have ever done is make poor selection choices and then make bulk changes. We lost by 2 points...a missed conversion or an Ingli$ field goal. It is not like they were a far superior team last night.

My thoughts are:

Moylan had an indifferent night, he was good in attack but poor under the highball.

Reynolds created repeat sets which we have had very few of over the last 10yrs. He was solid and will be better for the run. He was never going to have a JT like performance....heck even JT didn't have a JT like performance.

Farrah gave shite service when we were in attacking positions but he will keep his spot by default.

I feel sorry for Walker, he had no right to be there last night. But he didn't select himself. Bozo just ruined any genuine chance of a rep career.

We all know what Gus was getting at last night when he was saying "we weren't beaten". Undoubtedly, they were...but they were in it and up for it and just couldn't get the job done. The worst thing that they could do now is panic and make a raft of mid-series changes...which is typically what they've done, year after year, in their losing streak.

It was like Gould had his coaching hat on when he was saying that, trying to talk up the players.

He's right, cutting players, especially debutants after a tight loss sends the wrong message.

Walkers chances of having a representative career were over when he made the Australian team whenever that was.

Reynolds has a good kicking game but the problem is he has nothing else. He's too one dimensional and predictable, when people talk about him, they talk about his kicking game and nothing else.

I reckon this is a pretty good summary. Doubt there will be many changes at all for game 2, Reynolds was good defensively and he obviously has a lot of improvement in him. I underrated the toughness of Moylan, I thought he'd get whacked a few times early from Qld and disappear and a couple of errors aside, looked the man most likely for us.

Mansour to me looks an Origin player as well. But yet again, Qld win the big moments... NSW looked to have put together a decent defensive set just on halftime... Thurston jogs to the defensive line, we panic as usual and they score through the hands completely against the run of play.

There's a reason we've won ONE live game in Qld since 2005 and that won't be changing this year. Let's not forget there's two games in Brisbane next year too so three in a row looks the most likely scenario.

Just too good in the crunch again Maroons, an incredibly professional, well-drilled side that just knows how to win, no matter the circumstances. Too good.

Despite Walker being a dud selection, I reckon he could have been used around that 55-60 min mark to replace Farah and hopefully have a bit of spark. That's what I expected to happen anyway.

If nothing is working up until that part, no harm in trying something a little off the cuff

Bring in Tedesco and put Moylan on the bench.

Have a look at Moylan with the ball last night and compare it to what happens when he plays for Penrith. At Penrith he passes the ball almost every time he runs, because the outside backs always back him up. Last night only Mansour appeared to be doing this, no doubt because he's accustomed to doing it. It very nearly led to a try.

This is the reason Moylan was selected, his ball skills. Get Jennings, Morris and Ferguson supporting his runs and you'll find him putting them through holes.

Reynolds will be playing game 2. You'll see.

You are over exaggerating that he was bad when he wasn't.

He was solid but not at his best.

Adam had some good kicks too. He got a couple of repeat sets, those swirling bombs were hard to catch and Boyd caught them pretty much on his arse. Reynolds found the grass sometimes too. A couple of good long kicks too that turned QLD around. Cross field half bombs which QLD knocked on a couple of times.

His passing game was solid.

The Blues forwards did not get enough momentum for Adam to run it more than those 3 times he did. In fact no halves tonight on either side ran the ball much. It was greasy conditions which did not help so I disagree with you there.

There were 2 poor kicks though that released the pressure. But Maloney had a couple of poor kicks too.

Adam was very strong defensively too.

Overall I'd give Adam a 6.5.

The forwards needed to play better as I said. Moylan was poor as was J. Morris. Farah stifles things too much too which interferes with the halves.

When souths fan boys like yourself can only describe reynolds as solid, that is proof enough that he was terrible. For someone who was branded as NSW kicking saviour, his kicks were atrocious in the first half and worse in the second. His missed easy conversion was unforgivable as well. All i hear about is how he allegedly forced all these repeat sets, maybe i was watching a different game but most were forced by other players or QLD mistakes.

To say the forwards didn't do their jobs is ridiculous, we had near on 60% of possession in the 2nd half in great field possession with at least 8 sets on their line, 4 of which were back to back. The best reynolds could come up with was an absolute bludger of a pass to ferguson on the last tackle for a meek end to the set. Maloney was no better but at least he threatened in the first half. Reynolds was decent in defence so I'll give him that.

Despite all that i don't think he should be dropped as he was picked and deserves the whole series. However, if anyone thinks he will be better in QLD you are delusional, he couldn't get the job done with the forwards laying a platform, what hope does he have when it is 50/50 at best?

Yep, I think Walker was put in a bit of a no win situation. Give him 20 mins

I agree, but its pretty hard to get them syncing with Moylan after a couple of training sessions.
