If Renoylds is injured I'd go with Townsend , nothing beats a club combo

And he isn't even a bad player to boot anyway

Yeah, the fact that he is in very good form and his skillset perfectly compliments Maloney is a kicker!

BUT if Reynolds is out, they'll go with Pearce or Hodkinson.

If he didn't get injured then Teddy would have been fullback in game 1.

He is NSW best fullback. His stats put everyone else to shame over the past 18 months.

One argument is to pick Moylan because he was there in game 1. My argument is to pick the guy who is by far the best fullback.

But hey each to their own. So long as people who adhere to the "but he was there in game 1" argument also think that Dylan Walker should be retained because "he was there in game 1".

Lol. Get your hand off it. Tedesco is in line with Moylan and Coote, not vastly better than them. The one thing he has over them is speed, so stick him on the wing in place of Fergo.

I saw an article where the great Mal meninga had Tedesco as number 1 fullback in the game, Moylan was like 3 and Coote and Boyd weren't even in the 5

Weird how the Australian coach doesn't even rate the Australian fullback in his top 5 lol

Lord Ted is one of the top 5 players in the game. Has been for 18 months.

Moylan and Coote - who I both rate - are pushing top 20.

It's really simple imo. Tedesco is clearly NSW best player. And I'm not sure what sort of hallucinogens you'd have to be on to suggest otherwise. As such NSW should pick clearly their best player in his best position.

Complex stuff, I know!

I really don't see the issue with dropping moylan or moving him to the bench for tedesco. Tedesco missed 2 training sessions and 1 match big deal. You play the best available players. Everyone agrees Moylan's future is at 5/8 anyway

The issue is that you are bringing in another debutant and completely altering the team focus. You are also telling your debutant that unless he sets the world on fire he, too, will be dumped after one game as was the last bloke. You are also giving Queensland the biggest lift in morale possible, in that the opposition is in total panic, which is precisely what it would amount to.

club combo's should only be a factor if there isn't a standout among the players being considered. it shouldn't be the main focus. besides, halves will be playing on the opposite sides of the field for the most part. combo's with their same side forwards and backs would be more important than the halves combo itself. e.g., maloney/graham and townsend/lewis is more important than maloney/townsend.

combo's as the main aspect of selection means you go through a shit load of players because combo's change over time.

'Club combos' in the halves was just an excuse for the NSW Heirarchy to keep picking Mitchell Pearce when Carney and Maloney were the form 5/8s in the comp...

After a two point loss, you are not only conceding this series but next year's as well.

What say we just turn up to play in Brisbane and see what happens, huh?

Yes.

As Hutty said, the probability of NSW going up to Lang Park and evening the series is extremely low, and the recent record is there for everyone to see.

Next year's series? Yes, mark it down as lost too.

A new coach will bring in new players for Gallen, Bird and Farah. This is a given. No person willing to call themselves a coach will bring them back for another series, especially if 2016 is indeed lost on wednesday week. They should not have even been selected for this series. This basically means 3 new players/debutants on top the usual 3 or 4 replacements NSW usually make, especially when a new coach does come in and has a different view on players that Daley has.

What does that mean? A bunch of blokes new to Origin against blokes who handle it like brushing their teeth. In Daley's attempt to save his own face and eck out what he could with the old guard, he has set NSW future back another series or two.

NSW have never gone into a series to set itself up for the future. It's always just about 'form' and the next game. Picking a team with an eye for the future was what we needed out of Daley. He's failed miserably. Sure, the Blues may well have lost the series doing this too, but it would've been a sacrifice for future success.

Instead, Bozo and NSW do it the same way they have always done it over the last 10 years. That's turned out 9 series loses, and 1 win.

I think the only people who don't want Tedesco at fullback are Matt Moylan, Laurie Daley, Bob Fulton, Frog and all of Queensland.

Geez across the media today there is plenty of heat on Daley to pick Tedesco (and rightfully so). I reckon he will pick him.
