Im not so sure. Nothing decided yet!

Australia's chances? "Excellent" says Jack Warner

FIFA Executive Committee member, Jack Warner, has declared that Australia has an "excellent chance" of hosting the 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup.
Mr Warner was speaking at a reception hosted by FFA CEO, Ben Buckley at the Australian High Commission in the Nigerian capital of Abuja, attended by FIFA guests, Australian Bid team members and Nigerian Television News.
"Australia being allegedly 'far away' is a bit of a ridiculous a statement,” said Mr Warner.
“God created the world round for a reason: distance is relative to where you stand. And the Australian continent is nearer to two-thirds of the world's population than most other places. So what's the fuss?"
Mr Warner said that he had visited Australia on many occasions.
“Australia created the best ever Olympics and demonstrated an ability to host and manage some of the biggest sporting events in the world with class, expertise and with a dedication to excellence. If there is a country that truly deserves to host the FIFA World Cup, then it is the island continent of Australia".
He also pointed to Australia’s two consecutive FIFA World Cup appearances.
"Just look how Australia has fared in football over the years in football, and now, even your neighbours, New Zealand, have qualified! What a fantastic achievement!
“Australia is known to be a sporting nation and a country of happy and warm-hearted people. If you ask me, Australia has an excellent chance of succeeding with its Bid".
Mr Warner also said that the Australian Bid team was receiving first class input from its international advisors.
"Australia has assembled some of the best experts to give you hands-on advice for your strategy. I am impressed with what I see and I know that many of my colleagues are as well.”

Well that would be stupid Scottie. Those countries have already had the World Cup. You would think they would want to make the game bigger in countries like Australia. It would be the perfect time to have it in OZ. I mean if a country like South Africa can have it then why couldn't Australia?

They could do a staged rebuild like the one at Newcastle.
Stage 1, knock down the corporate stand and build a new stand behind the eastern, northen and southern concourses. Temporary corporates erected either side on the wetsern stand.
Stage 2 do the western side when the eastern is complete.

As they are adding 20k capacilty shouldnt be affected too much duribg the build.

I wonder if capacity will be less than 40k post wc.

I don't think they could do that because I think the field would be around 50 meters more north to where it is now. Remember there isn't much room between Wests Leagues and the southern deadball line. Probably not enough room for a grandstand and stuff on the Southern side. The only thing is they would have to get rid of the athletics track and the tennis courts/club but I am sure they could make a new athletics track and tennis club somewhere else in the area by then. Wests Leagues owns the Tennis club/courts now and the Campbelltown Council owns the athletics track and both would want the new Campbelltown Stadium there so it could be worked out.

HOW IT IS NOW

Campbelltown with the SFS in place of the current stadium

Campbelltown with Skilled Park in place of the current stadium

as you can see there's not enough room to keep the field where it is now. they would have to move it north a bit.

you can also see across the railway line there is another carpark. they could make that a multi level carpark and make a crossover pathway above the railway line like they already have above Leumeah station there.

They shouldn't decrease the capacity of it after the World Cup because some games we would get close to 40k like we did when we played against Parra at the SFS this year. Also there could be some Australian Kanagaroo and Wallaby matches there.

look at south africas timezone also at the time south africa were awarded if fifa were in a phase where they gave world cups to different confederations also its well known england will get 1 of those world cups , also for the 2nd world cup that will be given itll come down to stadia , the yanks have a sport called gridiron where the smallest stadium in the nfl seats 60,000 so they dont have to build new stadiums at all

I am not an old fossil. Ask him yourself. He hates Campbelltown and he wishes the Wests Tigers played no games there.

35% record on whats supposed to be a home ground is a joke the way it is now we have to win our next 15 games in a row to get a 50% record there , compared to other teams on their home grounds its a disgrace

NFL stadiums are too small and mostly played on artificial turf. Something Zurich will certainly not take to too kindly.

I dare say they'll build seating all the way around the ground first. These would be some of the most major works and could be carried out without disrupting Tigers games, and having minimal impact on the venue at the same time.

They'll close it down for a year or two prior to the world cup to get it all pretty and I dare say nothing will be played on there until the World Cup.

I don't think they would build the new seating around the field first because I don't think the field will be exactly where it is now. There wont be enough room on the southern end. The field will have to be around 50 meters north to where it is now.

Yeah we wouldn't be able to play at Campbelltown for 2 years probably but it will be worth it in the end. After the world cup we would probably play most of the home games there, or atleast half

Yeah and the Italians wouldn't like it with all the diving they do

Besides the U.S. have already hosted the World Cup and I think it would be better to spread the game to a continent that has never had the World Cup.
