Simple fact is that Liverpool would be the ideal place to locate a 40k stadium and, if need be, relocate the majority of home Wests Tigers game.
Campbelltown is quite simply too isolated to warrant it's own high level stadium. It is about the same distance for someone to travel from Penrith to Leichhardt as it is from Penrith to Campbelltown.
The McArthur should continue being a junior nursery and Liverpool is not too far that it would be disconnected from the City areas nor from the greater Macarthur area.
If we are going to be serious than Liverpool is the best balance and holds the highest likelihood of success.
It's always people from the Wests side of things that bring up playing at one stadium full-time, which leads to playing out of Campbelltown full-time, which leads to bleats about ignoring the juniors out at Campbelltown and so on. All the while preaching "unity" and "one club, not two sides". One club all right....what they want is Wests Magpies to be readmitted in its own right, but are too chicken sh*t to say it and operate under the guise of "moving forward in the best interests of the JV as its own entity", or the latest, "what's best for RL in south-west Sydney".
Liverpool would be a better option but the fact is that the proposal is for a stadium in Campbelltown. You cant look a gift horse in the mouth.
Speaking of assumptions there chump, kindly point how I'm "stuck in the past". I've never talked about cutting one half of the JV out completely. I've never threatened to stop supporting the team following a permanent shift out west.Only because there is a proposal for a new stadium in Campbelltown. If LO had far superior facilities than CS and would have no qualms about playing all games there. Before this was on the cards I was all for playing all our games at a suitable stadium like the SFS or Parra.
I've never read or heard of a former Wests magpies fan threaten to no longer support the club on the basis of venue. Certainly not me anyway so dont assume we are all stuck in the past with you.
What rubbish. You can accommodate both sides of the merger regardless of where you play. That's been pretty clearly established over the last couple of years, with up to four home grounds per season... and as many outside of our traditional home bases as there have been within them.I bet you'd see it differently if there was a proposal to move all games to leichhardt.
Wests is basically dead. Playing in a different region isn't going to make a difference.
You preach about becoming one club but your only idea on doing this is to completely alienate the Balmain side of the merger and fully accommodate the Wests side.
You're putting forward a strong argument for us to follow the one side, Wests Magpies.
You, sir, are a first grade f**kwit. You are not even deserving of pity. Next time, try to switch your brain on before you start to type. If you can.Lets be honest the name Wests is worth f**k all
The colours of wests are worth f**k all
The magpie itself is worth f**k all
From a brainding/marketing standpoint the dominant partner in the JV is the Balmain side. The Balmain side bring black and orange to the table. The Balmain side bring the tiger to the table. The Balmain side bring 11 premierships to the table.
All wests bring is this alleged junior nursery that gives us the likes of junior burger whilst hayne and co f**k off to parra or melbourne.
As for building a flash new stadium in the 3rd world. The derros, housos, junkies that call campbelltown home would rape and strip the ground within a week to fund their smack and winnie reds habit.
Wake up

And do you know why you've "never read or heard of a former wests magpies fan threaten to no longer support the club on the basis of venue"? Because, as I said originally, it's wests magpies fans that are advocating a permanent shift west so why would they make those threats? I can't recall the last time I read a Balmain fan argue that all games should be played at LO.
f**k off all you old magpies fans, we're the Wests Tigers, a JV that was formed in the long-term best interests of both Balmain and Western Suburbs. We're trying to appease two sides here and nothing is ever good enough for one side. The club is performing better than a lot of other Sydney clubs yet you still complain. FMD, go and support soccer full-time. Go and get an A-League team out in Campbelltown, FFS call it Wests Magpies for all I care, and f**k off for good.

The issue is not where you play - it's where you call home, where you train, where you have a presence.
The west versus the inner-west. One of the city's biggest growth markets for affordable housing versus one of the city's most unaffordable housing markets. Now, this wont have any great impact on your supporter base, but you can bet it will play a major role in junior development and involvement in the club over the coming years. We want to attract families to the club whose kids will aspire to great heights, and one day play in the same colours as their local heroes... Whereas at the moment all we are is just another employer of professional rugby league players - another 'franchise' without a soul.
The club's relationship with the Balmain area will still need to be nurtured but not for the same reasons. Maintaining a presence in the area by playing a minimum of four games a year at Leichhardt Oval is a must. But the reality is that area is populated more by young professionals than young home-makers with kids who might one day play rugby league. Rather than pretend it's not we should embrace this... We can (mostly) take our players from the west, and our money from the inner-west. Leichhardt Oval should be seen as a 'boutique' stadium in as real a sense as possible - and it should be upgraded to appeal more specifically to the suits and casual pant types of inner-suburban Sydney. This would perfectly compliment a purpose built stadium in Campbelltown, out of which the rest of our home games should be played, and which we should align as closely as possible with our regular training facility.
Both the Balmain and Western Suburbs clubs can better maintain their relevance to rugby league and the NRL by working to their strengths, and clearly defining their roles in the joint venture. If FIFA wants a stadium in Campbelltown, there's plenty in it for us all, and we should think very carefully before we write it off as "the death of Balmain"...
Go on then, tell me why no old Balmain fans have made such claims.....I'm sure you speak for them all.Theres a very good reason for that.
I wonder if you can work it out by yourself.
