Instead of pssing about with Vegas the nrl should take a home game off 12 clubs each season and make it a warriors away game in a different NZ city. Would be much better for nz growth if there was 12 warriors games across the country on top of the Auckland home games, could have 2 in Christchurch 3 in Wellington 2 in Dunedin 2 in wherever tonights game is etc

One off crowds of 20K or less in Christchurch, Wellington and Napier and you assume that is evidence that NZ can support a second team? your threshold for evidence is very low...

They won’t get magic round, if anywhere it will come to perth where the state gov will pony up big $’s for it. Auckland council arent fronting up $10mill to host it
but I don’t think it will go anywhere. Apart from one origin game it’s the only regular big rl event brisbane gets, the fans like it as cheap to get to and qlnd govt will keep fronting up cash for it.

I'm just trying to give you some perspective. I think it was great that my home province got a game.

But, if you want to ignore the fact that it's an event crowd and not a reflection of the strength of the sport in the region then that's up to you. For example, my uncle went to the game, he maybe watches a couple of Warriors games on TV a year (he also was given a free ticket).

A game or more every year wont see a similar crowd.

Fair enough, at least we agree on " event crowds " being a thing and of course I'm not suggesting Napier could support a full time nrl team. But all these grounds around new Zealand and the crowds the " Warriors " an out of town team...point towards something and it ain't a lack of support or awareness of NRL.

There's not a chance in hell we're wasting an entire round in Perth.
Auckland held the Auckland 9's for a few years and was pretty successful but the scheduling and holding back of stars hampered it.
Auckland has already proven in can hold suck fixtures successfully.

I want another team in NZ as well (much prefer it over PNG for example) but essentially nobody knows where the next team will be. There are also impediments to a second side over there. For example TV money and availability of corporates are just two. Location is probably another and so is probably the effect it has on the Warriors.

It is also the definition of bias to ignore what you don’t like (which are all these articles about other bids or expansion areas like QLD, PNG or Perth) and hold on to something from more than a year ago which doesn’t actually say what you want it to say as some sort of evidence.
