We discussed this earlier in the thread - we're discussing the here and now, not history. There's no league competition for most schools even if they wanted to play in one. As I said early my old school used to play in a league comp that no longer exists and all the players were rugby players.
You don’t like answering questions do you lol

loads of league juniors from nz talk about the pressure they face to play for the first 15 and give up rugby league

this is standard union behaviour being afraid of rugby league

let kids make their own choices which sport they like

I think you'll find this will get withered away in the coming years.
You can only hold back real Coke for so long.
They know it! Hence the outrage lol

*sigh*... misrepresenting things again.

Schools have always had the right to enforce students to play for the school team before playing outside for the clubs. However thats hardly ever enforced. That's why I, and tens of thousands of others, over the years have played schoolboy rugby on Saturdays and club League on Sundays.
If there where school League comps to play in it wouldn't be an issue. But there aren't.

To,

to get an accurate comparison you need to do clubs by time slots and opposition over say a 5 year period. That would be much more accurate reflection than Cumulative numbers.
This. Raw numbers are near meaningless, of course the Warriors numbers are lowest when they get practically no FTA games and pretty much own the Saturday 5:30pm and Sunday midday EST time slots.

Irony.

See Te Kaha's post above. Your info is historical.

You were asking about plans for international rugby league ?
That article is from months ago (I read the original NZ Herald article) but I'm more concerned with ongoing longterm competition something international league has struggled with historically.

Strange having lower tv numbers when you play in a different time zone... outside of prime time and only fta 2 times a year..
G what could it be lol
The kicker is it's prime time in New Zealand to the tune of 30 million.
But Perth... no prime time, not many free to air and no ... a big no to 30 million.

I told you before they are bringing in an annual end of season tournament involving tonga samoa nz and australia

ANNUAL

you keep saying everything is historical that’s a pretty weak way to dismiss things

like I said let kids choose which sport they prefer

with the game we have we won’t have problems getting kids wanting to play it

one of the down sides of the arlc ceo and chair abdicating their responsibilities and not attending the RLWC was there was no IRL meeting and therefore no test calendar agreed!

Then why are kids turning away in such increasing numbers? Why are they playing basketball instead?

And "annual" up until clubs demand their players have a full offseason instead of playing end of season internationals.

And I'm saying I'm not confident it will continue to be annual - remember the 4 Nations ...

The kids are choosing, they're choosing league in Oz because it's more popular, they're choosing rugby in NZ because it's more popular.

No kiwi kids face pressure to give up league

typical union behaviour when it comes to rugby league

but we all know how fair competition between the two rugby codes turns out

France taught union not to compete fairly with rugby league

Until the kiwis play 5-6 test matches on fta EVERY year IRL is never going to be a driver of kids choices in NZ. It’s so sporadic that i doubt many kids could tell you the kiwi capt. let alone it be influencing their behaviour and choices.

They need to be beating Australia.
I remember talking with a kiwi after they won in 2008. It was like he found his 1 true love lol
