The fact the dolphins can get 30k members in one year and crowds af Suncorp close to 30k show the market isn’t being serviced to its potential

the fact the broncos football club makes three times the tigers show how much room there is in Brisbane
The Dolphins are still in the novelty period, and their "support" base is the biggest pack of poseurs in the league. So I wouldn't be counting those chickens just yet.

Secondly, these things always suffer from the law of diminishing returns. All you are suggesting is that the NRL refuse to learn from history and oversaturate the Brisbane market like it did Sydney's.

At this point all the honest people realise that putting the second Brisbane team in an insular and isolated peninsula was stupid, there wouldn't be such loud demand for more teams so soon if that wasn't the case, but the NRL and dumb merkins like you made your bed, now you should be forced to sleep in it.

Juggernaut LOL.

E.g. Dallas Cowboys and Man City are juggernauts, the Dolphins are an astroturfed mess in their honeymoon period who will suffer a drop off in support like all new teams do.

You're no different than the dumbarses that declared the Titans a success in 07/08.

Memberships were massively inflated by 1 game deals they offered as season started, good way to make yourself look good. Reality was they couldnt shift 10k full memberships and had to readjust their model when it became clear.
Crowds were as expected starting well on field, boosted by derbies but spoilt by playing at shtty Kayo stadium. Marketing team did a great job with the branding, fair play to them. Will be interesting to see how they draw at Suncorp against Sydney teams this year.
Hopefully they maintain the momentum and dont drop off like most other teams have done after first couple of years.
Im all for Brisbane 3 once the NRL has a national footprint and another club in NZ. Until then its not needed and is just wasting a license in a serviced market that means the N in NRL will never be realised.

You think crowds will drop off for the dolphins

so what happens when crowds drop off for a Perth nrl side from an already low base ?

Raiders have been around for 40 years

they got double their crowds and members in one year
Canberra is a city of 400k with sub zero temps in winter. SEQLD is 3 million people with stunning weather in winter.

Also, why not compare them to the numerous Sydney clubs that have been around for 50+ years?

Yep we have a loon whose team couldnt hack it in NRl anymore so he became an afl fan, and a loon whose main purpose in life is to see an NRl team in Logan after the local Logan team couldnt hack it the amateur leagues and AFL became more popular in his burb. Stange times indeed :)

You said the same thing before the dolphins got
In that brisbane was already serviced and you were wrong then too

the Brisbane derby is now the biggest club rugby game on earth

add the tigers and we get more derbies

more sell outs and massive ratings
What a shame. I remember watching Broncos v Cowboys getting 50k for a regular round fixture. Does this mean the Dolphins have cannibalised this match?

Broncos crowds this year were up because of their form

the cowboys game used to get 40k before but think it sold out this year ?

the dolphins led to a boom in qld crowds

even the titans were up

the women’s World Cup took away from crowds with Suncorp unavailable for the event which saw bronocs at the Gabba

To be fair, I am a fan of the Dolphins being added. I just hope the NRL have the gumption to announce there will be a 20 team competition in 2026 or 27 soon.
