I really don't think anyone vaguely familiar with RU in NZ would call them the 'New Zealand National Rugby Union team' or search for that if looking up the All Blacks.

Again, type in All Blacks into the chrome address bar, and that's the default option. Just like people aren't typing in 'Wests Tigers - Rugby League team' but that is more searched than 'Wests Tigers'

Learn how google works.

Ok mate, sure.

So why doesn't what you are saying show up on the list that was posted and reported on in the media showing the Warriors as # 1?

Why wasn't it:

1. All Blacks - New Zealand National Rugby Union Team
2. Warriors
3. All Blacks

So the nz herald are wrong
If you read the article it explains that this is not about total searches:

It doesn’t reveal the most searched terms – which the tech giant said come back similar every year – but instead, it shows the search terms that saw the biggest increase in 2023.

Which makes sense as the Warriors have been awful for a long time, so of course there will be an increase in searching for it in their first successful year in nearly a decade.

Fair enough. Poorly worded article with a misleading opening statement.

TBF, I think they run them like that on purpose. There's a weird strain of anti rugby in the NZ Herald. Essentially it's the opposite of east coast papers with league in Oz where they hype the game, the Herald tends to do the opposite.

The opening statement is contradictory to the article itself.
It blatantly lies then retracted said lie.

But yes , in this day and age it certainly was foolish to assume that the very headline , opening statement and list was all bullshit.
My bad.

Calm down mate. You are way too aggressive for an internet forum.

I didn't read the article either, so I've got nothing more to say hence my blank post you replied to. Why does that rile you up so much though?
You went off like a Chinese firecracker though.

At least admit you're an ignorant dunce
