Been following league long enough to see sparks not catch and not capitalised on (95,01-03, 08, 11, 18) without serious change the trend will continue. Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see league thrive I’m just a realist

There were people I met that honestly had to be honest with themselves this year and admit they like league more.
Even the commentary team for the WC used the League final as an example of what they wish Union was!

I’m seeing a pattern now

any union player that wants to go to league isn’t good enough for the all blacks

and now denigrating the kiwi league team

In reality the prestige is to play for the All blacks over the Kiwis and most will choose that as it currently stands.
Love the kiwis but their win rate against Aus isn’t great (around 30%) they’d need to get at least parity over a period of time to rate them higher- looked promising for a bit a few years back before the wheels fell off with Kidwell

I’ve said before I’d love a second NZ team I wanted the Southern Orcas in over the Titans due to the Giants/Seagulls/Chargers/Gladiators failure.
i just want to make sure it’s set up for long term success and many on here overestimate the strength of league and underestimate the strength union still has in NZ.
In Aus it seems to be you’re one camp or the other where in NZ there’s a much larger group of fans that can equally enjoy BITH codes and not have to wish the demise of one of the other.
Although I watched the odd bit pre their existence the introduction of the Warriors into the winfield cup was what began my obsession with the sport and despite enjoying both codes if I had to choose between a Warriors Premiership and An ABs RWC it’d be the Warriors premiership without question.

There are 25k league players in NZ. There's 145k rugby players. There are more women/girls playing rugby in NZ than total league players.

Both league and rugby have seen rises in women/girls playing the sports and drops in men/boys.

Sheesh, I disagree with you on Akira and That Guy, even if we agree on NZ league.

I rate Akira, think he's a lot better than the media make out, there's an Ioane derangement syndrome in NZ, him and Rieko get pillowed for stuff other guys get a pass for and are judged harsher than a lot card magnets.

As for that guy I've never found him funny in the slightest. Had to go to dinner with him once (mate of mine worked with him) and pretend to laugh at his shtick. I've always liked Newsboy though.

Me and WB have a very small running commentary on the upcoming us election. Nobody's forced to read it.
