Comments from the kiwi union fans on there suggest they have a different opinion
Those same fans also say similar about the likes of Ione from my post-doesn’t mean they’re right.
Rather than the ABs being weakened by league the opposite is still pretty much true in NZ, for example under 19s players that can’t crack the super rugby squads are giving the likes of jersey Flagg a shot in Warriors open trials and by all accounts carving up.
The Union systems in NZ are comparable to the league systems in Aus in terms of player production- professional league benefits from this and would be absolutely in trouble if they had to use the NZ junior league systems

That’s not what one of your fellow kiwi union experts said

he said union junior numbers are collapsing

But it’s prettty funny how you think you know more than other union fans

Not sure where I said anything about junior Union numbers? Numbers for contact sports have been trending down for years hence the likes of Soccer having strong participation with mums not wanting little Johnny getting hurt.

But it’s prettty funny you think you know anything about league in NZ

I don’t need too

I know about the nrl and what works and want to see more of that in nz

you know been following this comp from the early 80s

the union approach in nz is irrelevant to how the nrl will go about things

Then perhaps stop pretending you have your finger on the pulse of the NZ league league scene?
Although I do agree that I’d love to see the NRL do more in NZ but Growing up and coming through both League and Union systems in NZ the League development in NZ needs all the help it can get it’s EXTREMELY amateur and needs ALOT of help before it starts becoming the first choice for any young player that wants a professional sports career

Up to 30 percent of nrl players are kiwi or islander

how much more kiwi league players do you want them to produce

again you seem to have forgotten they literally just defeated the best rugby team on the planet,
The kangaroos

The NRL has done NOTHING for the entirety of the Warriors existence I’m sceptical that will change so for the foreseeable future most of NZ players will get a large part of their development from NZs union systems and celebrating any struggles they have will ultimately negatively effect NZ league players development unless things change dramatically

Looking forward to what the South Island bid has to say in Vegas. I’m hoping they’ve got something usa based interested otherwise it’s a dumb arse place to launch a nz bid.

the Warriors have added 5 new development teams..
now playing games in Christchurch ,junior numbers exploding on the south Island...ad another team..
I would call that a dramatic change and all that coming AFTER they put 30 points on Australia..

Wake up.

You do realise although NZ has the largest PI population PI does not necessarily = NZer right?
And yes the Kiwis most recent result was one of their best ever it was only a week earlier where they were dominated by the Kangaroos and previously beaten in the WC which you seem to have forgotten or are choosing to ignore. The Warriors while riding high this season have had 2 good seasons in the last decade and although I hope that continues I have seen enough false dawns to get too excited just yet.

No they aren’t, a lot of them have heritage but arent from there. Be like saying 60% of nrl players come from Europe lol

This response doesn’t surprise me

I’m seeing a pattern now

any union player that wants to go to league isn’t good enough for the all blacks

and now denigrating the kiwi league team

Warriors have always regularly played games in CHCH this is nothing new. Canterbury is one of the few traditional strongholds of league in NZ second only to Auckland and I’m not sure where you seem to think numbers are “exploding”? Even doubling ‘f**k all’ players is still ‘f**k all players’.
Even if you actually did go to Dunedin the extremely small snap shot does not represent the whole story- wake up yourself
