You're a funny little AFL troll aren't you.
End of 24 doesn't mean December 31st ... and the season doesn't kick off on January 1st.. so...

Sounds to me like exactly the same time line as the Dolphins ( overwhelming success)

But please troll on .
Don’t be a Bellend. No it wasnt great for dolphins.they struggled to sign players and finished 13th. Nz2 will find it even harder. And that’s before we talk about the fact they have to actually build a whole club not just a squad. giving them only 12 months would be dumb arse in the extreme and won’t happen.

Still with the 12 months...
They are building a club now, so that's 24 months and if a location is announced at seasons end ( end of year) that's 17 months to build a roster.
SL gives clubs 4 months! Under Promotion and relegation.

Besides, it's not only rare that a player will sign more than a season out from their current contract but even in those rare cases they exit early. There's just no bleeding for a club you're leaving.
Show me an example of a player successfully signed player 2 years away without it blowing up in the media for speculation about an early exit..it doesn't work.

Thankfully the NRL knows this ( unlike you) and gave the Dolphins the only workable time frame- like they will with the next club.

If NZ2 needs more than 12 months to build a club from scratch then wouldn't that rule Perth out of the race?

Haha no they aren’t, they’re trying to build a bid. They are no where near building a club,

no it isn’t. Let’s say they announce team 18 in oct/nov 2024 after the gf. That gives a bid 12 months to build a club and sign a team before pre season starts in dec 25. It’s batsht crazy to think that’s a good idea.

I don’t think anyone other than possibly easts could have a club successfully built in 12 months. Why would you set up a club for early failure in That way? There’s no massive rush for a club in 2026 given next tv deal,
won’t start till 2028.

when the reds came in they had a 3.5 year lead in to get everything in place, and it showed with the quality of squad and jnrs in the yr 1 results.

So, for the record: are you dockers or West Coast?
Come on man, there's not one logical person who thinks you're league at this point. Either fess up or it's an alt., your call

Brisbane Tigers have a huge advantage over every other bid due to the fact they have assets and a strong operation.

We'll have to wait and see what NZ2 and Perth have up their sleeve.

Sadly for them nrl doesn’t need another brisbane3. In all the talk of clubs 18-20 brisbane 3 hasn’t come up Once in last 6 months by anyone. their last ditch attempt at being the qlnd regional firehawks was bears like desperation.

If your going to compare them with the bears they might aswell be a merged entity with the like of either Perth or Adelaide, it will be the only way they'd get a licence, SEQ4 won't come in until licence 21, im fairly sure if they are happily making money off of expansion or get themselves flush with assets year on year by the end of 2030, theyll continue to expand to possiblly 22 teams, by then conferences will be in and a simpler structure to who plays who will make it easier for expansion to happen further

Are you just throwing his name out there or have you heard it’s him? Cause the article says it’s a kiwi Hollywood celebrity, Momoa isn’t a kiwi, he’s Hawaiian
As far as famous hollywood stars there's not many from new Zealand, and the ones that are, were all born in or around Wellington, or atleast studied there.
Not sure why they need some Hollywood celebrity anyways...
As far as NZ male actors there's Karl Urban and Antony Starr, Temeura Morrison, Jemene Clement and Taika Watiti, but all hail from around Wellington, only morrison from rotarua.
Sam Neill at 74 is the only actor that's from South Island Christchurch, he is probably the only actor that has any affiliation with both the area and hollywood and has been off for the past year due to him having chemotherapy for blood cancer which in now in remission, so there's a good chance its him

To be fair to the school teacher who is running this (loose) bid, even he isn't promising a NZ celebrity he is

“We are in negotiations at the moment, hoping to get a US-based New Zealand celebrity to come in and be the face of our bid.”

It's got zero substance and the fact that

they were “still looking for as many investors as we can get’’

Shows it's one well meaning bloke hoping to turn some press coverage into something it's currently not.

Abdo said it’s not being decided till end of 2024 so that only gives 12 months to build a club and a team. Good luck with that!
Have to agree on this, 26 is far too soon to build a new club from scratch.

Plus if the attraction of playing at a new stadium is part of their business case in building tv and sponsor interest, that isn’t scheduled to be completed till mid-26 anyway.

What a strange comment, Perth Red has been the biggest cheerleader for a WA based team. Hell he even gets shit about it from the types of posters who give your silly post a like.

Ironic that a poster with 50 odd posts is claiming someone else an alt ...
