f**k you are stupid. None of the articles were about TV ratings, they were about something else. Their "job" is to write articles. I'm sure they will be devastated that you, a semi literate wanker, thinks they aren't doing their "job" correctly.
I have no words 🤣
What was I thinking 🤦‍♂️ here I was reading the news for information 🤣🤣
I'm such a fool.

I can tell you one thing for sure mate when the super tournament was cancelled due to covid I remember very clearly alarm bells going off in N.Z. because people were getting sick of the sight of the same teams playing each other over and over, and in all fairness that would be understandable.
And as you say, yes N.Z. is not Australia, yet neither is it an island metaphorically speaking, so if crowds haven`t bounced back post covid like every other major sporting code in the world you have to ask yourselves questions.

Really? the same comp that had higher crowds and TV viewers than the previous year? Anyway, Due to the circumstance, that was the same five teams. If and it still is a big if, there is another comp it will not be just the same five teams. There are already plans for an an 8 team "domestic" comp with crossovers, should RA founder.

Damn, hahaha he's still here after all these years of hating the aussie. Best thing for everyone would be to refuse Perth a team so that pommy wanker never gets a team and put them in NZ so it pisses off the other anti aussie poster here in the Union loving aussie hating anti league fraud.

Good day you salty OLD cutie.

That young fellas folks flew over to Brisbane for magic round , watched their boy debut in front of 50K
amazing atmosphere

If he stayed in toffball in NZ , even if he jagged a spot in the top domestic level that sport can be played at over there , he'd be playing in front of 3 magpies , 2 cats & a dog

This is what young kiwis can experience over here , & with 2 of their sides in the NRL
increasingly at home.

Yep and he would have mates, family who now do the same thing.

really is untapped resource the pacific

I enjoy RU on TV. When it’s a good game, I enjoy it every bit as much as league. But live? Give me league any day. The more technical aspects of the forward set-pieces in RU just don’t make for goood live viewing. On TV with good camera angles, close-ups and commentary they’re fine. But from 50-100m away with nothing bar the big screen for assistance you can’t see shit, and spend half the game trying to work out what each stoppage was for. League on the other hand translates well to live viewing and some elements are actually better live, like your ability to watch entire defensive lines move and how well the ref is policing the 10m rule.
As TV coverage has improved and stadium ticket prices have increased there’s simply less and less reason to attend a live RU game unless it’s one that you’re attending for genuine big game atmosphere, and that’s mainly just internationals and finals.

The whole super rugby comp fails the relevance test IMO ... its just a poor concept & that betting chart someone put up shows it also has quality issues
5 goods sides , 4 kiwi 1 aussie
7 shit sides
the brand is weak , you know more often then not you'll get a poor contest so no one turns up & I don't buy its that much more appealing on TV without data to prove me wrong. The whole thing stinks & its going backwards ...

On the flip side you have the warriors , fans know what they'll get at their games
a contest & a damn good one too , yesterdays game V penrith easily the best of magic round so far
the NRL is a very strong brand & its just getting stronger. With the talk of a 2nd NZ NRL side , i'd be shifting a bit uncomfortably in my seat if i was an NZRU official.

Super rugby used to get massive crowds

the issue was too many Aussie teams and kicking out sa so the same kiwi teams playing each other is boring and playing the Aussies is no challenge

resting ab players from games devalues the comp

Even among the NZ sides it suffers at times from the dilution of y the old rivalries due to the super rugby sides being mostly amalgamations of the old provincial unions. The NPC is where the true tribal allegiances and rivalries lie in NZ Rugby. But that’s been screwed over by belong relegated to a lower tier and by ABs rarely getting re rep their provinces any more.

If Rugby has gained zero traction with Pro Rugby ( crowds of less than 1 thousand) it would be a very expensive mistake to have USA teams playing in Europe and the pacific.

To put it in context, on most weekends the Toronto Wolfpack were getting crowds larger than all the Pro Rugby crowds combined.
This is not the same at all though. Wolfpack was playing in a prestigious, established competition with high-level talent compared to the newly established American Rugby competition. Besides there have been some games that have exceeded the Wolfpack attendance record, E.G. San Diego got 13k.

Check again idiot. Games played in NZ seldom had their crowds published, and often as not rounded as an aside.

Two Adults cost $40 in tickets alone for one game. SkySportsNow cost $40 a month for as many people as you can fit into a room. Are you really that stupid that you can't see why that argument is fallacious. Especially after a couple of years where going to the game was at first forbidden and then still considered risky. People get used to what is easiest. Watching a game live on TV is cheaper, warmer, and for most more enjoyable.

And this thread is about NZ, a country you clearly know nothing about. SO your pointless Aussie TV numbers mean nothing. Much like the content of your posting.

Yeah but you haven't got a single thing right yet, so what you think again is worhtless.
Yet another article saying how crap Super Rugby is and not a single positive comment in the comments section.

But hey, everyone is wrong:D The TV ratings are growing year on year :D :D

Major League Rugby is a professional comp with many highly paid ex All Blacks, Wallabies, Springbok ..etc playing in it. The comp isnt going gang busters, Check out the crowd at the local derby Boston V New York ... 100 people would you say ? And the highlights video has 33 likes and 2 comments :D :D

You think division one and two of English rugby league are prestigious lmao

they played no home games in super league

essentially the Wolfpacks crowds in Division3 of English rugby league beat any mlr crowds by a long way

True but at least there’s a pro comp in North America.

so many false dawns for RL in North America unfortunately.

Last time union managed a viable club comp in Sydney (let alone Australia) was in 1910
That's also totally irrelevant from my suggestion that a national competition is Australian RU's only hope of turning things around for the sport in the long term...

Just as many comments putting down League. Until the LU crowd got involved "sir kenneth free"? really? you guys could at least make it more difficult.

And of course the same journalists who now are to be believed were lying before? Confirmation bias at it's highest.

The thing is mate, all they say is " trending up" which literally means anything. It could be trending up since the opening of the season, trending up since covid...
If it was clearly doing well, we'd have the figures to judge for ourselves. Heck the journalists didn't get the figures.
We don't take opinion pieces here mate.
