Of course in this instance Super Rugby is almost irrelevant to why SkyTV pays NZR for. They will pay for the 13- 15 Test matches that the All Blacks play each year, the World Cup every four years, the Lions every 12, The new nations cup every two years... The fact you think Super Rugby will have any real impact on NZR shows just how little you really know.

I’d never say “never” without a crystal ball. I remember in the early 90s League people were talking about taking over Union. By the early 2000s Union was booming and League was still struggling with the fallout from the SL war and my north shore Toff boss was talking about how he wished League wild hurry up and die. Neither happened. Currently League is booming and union is struggling, but things can turn around especially if unforeseen things happen.
