Sione is such a great defensive centre.
Why did Brown hide him in defensive line again? LOL

I remember reading an interview with Flanagan a while back regards the Cronulla rebuild at the time. He mentioned stats show that a roster needed 3- 4 State of Origin reps in it to be challenging for the Premiership. .....we're getting closer.

Right, so, let's try and put this puzzle together...

1. Watson
2. Lee
3. Moga
4. Ramien
5. SKD
6. Ponga
7. Pearce
8. Glasby
9. Levi/Woolford
10. Klemmer
11. Guerra
12. Fitzgibbon
13. Ese'ese

14. Levi/Woolford
15. Daifiti
16. Gavet
17. Mata'utia

18. Hunt
19. Ross
20. Lino
21. Buhrer
22. Barnett
23. Jaifiti
Etc
Etc
Etc

If we're not playing 80 minute hookers, then we should at least spell our starting hooker with another genuine hooker, hence Woolford getting the nod over buhrer. Sione makes the bench ahead of buhrer and Barnett based on utility value...if any backs go down he can easily slot into the backline, and during games with this team I'd see Herman get a spell, with Guerra going to lock and Sione taking Guerra's spot.

Anyone got a team list for round 1 of the 2015 season for comparison? Then let's get Woosh over here and see him try to argue that we haven't improved under Brown.

Trying to be as objective as possible... I'll bolded the players who I think are better.

Apart from Kade, it's either the players we have now are far superior or even at best. I've given Gagai and Uate the benefit of the doubt because they were pretty decent for us for a while but apart from Kade Snowden who I would have over Glasby, our current team sh*ts on the team Brown basically inherited. We even have a vastly improved version of Daniel Saifiti.

Well done to Brown and the Knights management in general. Really excited once again for next season!

A few points of clarification:

- Aku at his best (circa 2010-2013) > SKD but outside of that period SKD > Aku
- People forget how influential Mullen was. I invite you all to look at the youtube video chronicling Newcastle's greatest tries when he was running around. It was all off the back of him and that doesn't take into account his game management (e.g. long-kicking game) and defence. I think Ponga will be better, but not yet.
- Tim Glasby in 2018 was better than Dan Saifiti in 2016

cant agree with this. Ponga had a arguably better first year than Mullo had in his entire career. I do have a massive man crush on Ponga though so maybe bias somewhat. Ponga is a freak.
