5.Shaun Kenny Dowell
6.Kalyn Ponga
7.Mitchell Pearce
8.Daniel Saifiti
9.Danny Levi
10.David Klemmer
11.Lachlan Fitzgibbon
12.Aiden Guerra
13.Herman Ese'ese

14.Jamie Buhrer
15.Tim Glasby
16.James Gavet
17.Sione Mata'utia

Levi is the most talented of all our hooker options. If he pulls his finger out (which im confident he will), no one will get close to unseating him

Name any at 1-13 I think bench will be Buhrer, 2 props and a back rower if 3 middle forwards used in 13 or if only two then bench will be Buhrer and 3 props/middle
As good of a clubman as he may be, I can't find a spot for him.
That's probably just opinion over what will realistically happen, though.

Don't think Buhrer is good enough for 1-13 but he is best option at 14 due to covering hooker and a few other positions, with Griff out then selection of 9 is between Levi and Woolford with Mann more likely a 14 in place of an injured Buhrer.

Personally, I'd rather take Woolford.
What is Buhrer offering on a bench of say:
Buhrer, Glasby, Sione, Gavet.
He's proven time and time again to be a liability in the centres - not his fault as a back rower - but not a good enough reason to claim utility.
As a hooker he's below Woolford.
If a back goes down, Sione, like it or not for his development, is a better replacement and we have two 80 minute back rowers if needed.

But then you're only taking in 5 middles, unless you think Sione is a better option at lock than Barnett.

I guess all of them bar Gavet can play long minutes.

I absolutely don't want Sione in the middle. Concussed within 2 mins.

We only need 5 middles.
Glasby, Ese'ese, Klemmer, Gavet and DSaf combine for a 238min average. We're covering 3 middle spots so we need 240mins.
If one goes down - Guerra has played excellently in the middle and we put a second rower on.
Having Buhrer in the team doesn't cover for middle forwards.

I'll concede that all this is pointless argument - I think he'll most likely be in the team, I just don't agree with the selection.

I also think in 2018+ it's exceptionally -EV to play someone out of position at dummy half.

They aren't going in with one prop on the bench.

I don't see a role for Sione "rotating with both backrowers" as they play 80 minutes and are better.

That said, Brown thought his best bench was 2 props, Buhrer and Lamb last year. So who knows.

We have Ese'ese starting so that's still four players who can play prop. I felt that forward rotation gave our best players a place in the 17 and gave us cover in all positions.

Can also go

8. Klemmer
9. Mann
10. Ese'ese
11. Fitzgibbon
12. Mata'utai
13. Guerra

14. Buhrer/Woolford
15. Glasby
16. Saifiti
17. Barnett

Can't see Mann in 13 anywhere, bench at best and Fitz and Guerra are best 11 & 12

if only we had an 80 min hooker. It's obvious that position is our weakest link ( assuming Klemmer is coming )

Slade cant come back quick enough

Like that run on side. Glasby and Gavet ( or Jsaf ) on the bench is a given. The make-up of the other 2 ? Precious Levi isnt an 80 min hooker so..... Buhrer ? he covers a few positions at a pinch although not well in any of them. i'd love to fit Barny and Sione in the side somehow.

It's a weird feeling, trying to fit 10 good players into 6 positions. We have always had selection dilemmas but they were more of the 'how the f*ck do I fill out this roster without names like King, Tanner or Tolar...

Hopefully those 'good old days' are long gone and never came back.

So Brown is looking at Mann at our starting hooker.
Deadset Brown has gone through more hookers than my last trip to the Philippines lolol

I'm picking Klemmer and Gavet to start, Glasby lock and Herman coming off the bench.

Rumour about Manu Ma'u might have some merit in it too.

That's one scary as pack!

Assuming we sign Klemmer we are forward full, lack backs so further signing most likely a back that can play most positions 1-7.

Gotta pay em to get your end wet, mate?
every man pays, sometimes its with a 50 and other times its with half a life of pain and a house. Either way you pay.

Personally I'll take the 50 and pay em to get the f**k out of MY house. .
