Newcastle Knights sign Evarn Tuimavave

His best game for the Warriors was one of the best I've seen from a prop forward, a couple of years ago against Canberra he racked up about 220m. Stunning. He's also the best hitman in D for the Warriors.

As a sidenote, he can also kick goals. I think this change will do him the world of good. Daniel Anderson brought him through in the Warriors and thought he was the best prospect coming out of New Zealand at the time.

Massive shame to let him go, the trade is Jesse Royal for Cooper Vuna, the young backrower cum five eighth from our U20s that played first grade this year, and Evarn. I know who won on the ledger, and it certainly isn't the Warriors.

Hmm good signing possibly... but this neck injury worries me..

He's past that. He was up for a comeback a couple of months ago and got a leg injury of some sort. The game against Penrith 32-32 a few weeks ago highlighted Evarn's worth, when he came on, the Panthers pack went backwards in a hurry.

What does that mean?

It means we got Royal, you got Con Mika, Tuimavave and Cooper Vuna in the last couple of years. Who would you rather have? Vuna, Tuimavave and Mika, or Royal? You've got some real talents in Vuna Tuimavave and Mika. I'd rather they were with the Warriors TBH.

I think we means in recent player trades with the Warriors we have given them Royal. Whilst in return we have got Vuna, Mika and now Tui. So we've done the better of the two teams in that regard.

I think he's saying we did better out of getting Tui (thanks Mac) and Vuna and giving up Royal to the Warriors...

Ah, I thought you were talking about some complicated trade that involved Royal returning to the Knights with ET in exchange for Vuna and Mika......

Absolutely. I wish Evarn all the best, he's been one of my favourite players at the Warriors, he's been a loyal club member since he debuted in 2002, I was proud of him when he made his test debut last year.

I like what the Knights have done, they have brought a lot of players into the club with upsides that weren't getting the chances they deserved elsewhere and made a new culture post Joey.

All the best for the finals, and all the best with Evarn. I hope he destroys it for you guys.

At least we substituted him with some experience and maturity. It has probably been the one thing we have lacked in the forwards this year - the maturity that we put all of our hopes on in Ben Cross. At least we have a few front rowers with over 100 games under their belts (assuming Simmo's still with us next year) with the rest having a solid season's experience to work on next year.

Is he eligible to play in the remaining games in the finals?

nope
there's that june 30th deadline

does he really have that much experience?
more than 100 games?
thats the most (besides simmo) in our forward pack

Very happy with this signing. Natusch, Houston, Cross, Wicks, Fa'oso, Tafua, Tolar and E. Good pack IMO.

Take Timmy off that list and replace him with Tovo and Edwards.

Also hopefully next year Housten goes back to the back row.

Still gives us 8 solid props. Hopefully injuries to the big men are kinder next year.
