Another junior with huge wraps who has turned out little more than serviceable. Moga came in to wing and offered a lot more. I’d like to see him out there again.

I know it’s obvious but one thing we don’t see anymore is our juniors go on to big things. It’s really hurt us as a club. The one thing a JV should have is a raft of excellent juniors.
100 percent agree mate…everyone talks about the almighty Illawarra nursery. But I can’t remember a superstar coming out of there since the 2010 team.

Might need to be a bit creative getting that team under the salary cap.
That particular Saints side was the 1965 Grand Final team playing against a young South Sydney side .

As far as the salary cap was concerned I was told by my most reliable source at the time , honest Horace Noseall , that they all received a ‘ 65 Holden that year - fully registered ! 😉

To be fair, we haven’t had a competent coach since end of 2011 and McGregor and Griffin in particular would rather play a Latimore, McGuire, Mc Cullogh, Corey Norman, GERALD BEALE OUT OF RETIREMENT FFS, Moga, Mbye, some random Nth QLD reserve grade winger who debuted at 28??!! etc while any junior with first grade potential was left in reserve grade or dropped after one dodgy performance - while those more experienced plodders were instant selections regardless of errors or terribly mediocre performances. I agree we’re still waiting for someone to kick on to reach their potential but geez we’ve had probably way more than a dozen players either leave for greener pastures (where most have improved) or had their development stymied by crap coaches. And none of the current crop have had a coach yet who was capable of utilising their strengths in a smart game plan based around those skills. To be honest I’m surprised Sullivan especially has stayed - he has wasted 2-3 years of his career under Griffin. He should have had at least 18 months of continuous first grade under his belt by now.

Jonathon Reuben was the winger I think lasted 12 months If that.

We haven’t had as many juniors as say Penriff or tigers that have moved on to greener pastures and become stars. Sure our coaches suck. But our juniors aren’t all what they’ve been talked up to be

Not the worst teamlist again. I'd swap Feagai I'll admit, but I do think Burns does deserve another shot. Lost it at him for his shit errors but at least he offers some straight running and variety that our other forwards, bar Su'a, don't. Jaiyden Hunts inclusion still confuses me because I do believe Toby should have some more runs in there

Take out J.Hunt, B.Burns, Matt Feagai and MMolo and bring in Lawrie, Bird, Moga and Couchman and you have a much stronger team. Good to see Musgrove get a shot although I assume he'll get dropped before some of the above I suggested.
