Watched the first two episodes of 'The Last of Us' and it has been very solid although not the 9.6 it has on IMDB at this stage by any means..

Something i found to be really stupid was Doesn't all the advertising having just the 14 year old girl and Pedro plus the fact that they don't even put the main actresses name in the opening credits next to Pedro and the girl make everyone realise that the female lead is going to die like imminently?? I spent the whole first two episodes just waiting for her to die which took away all impact when it actually happened

I am up to date with the last of us. I think it has been excellent. I played the game, albeit 10 years ago and have forgotten some bits and pieces but the adaptation has been very good. They have adjusted the story for TV in the right way while staying true to the characters and the story.
This is my favourite show in a few years right now, hopefully, they stick the landing.

I've watched all eps so far. It's solid but pretty overrated. I don't care how accurate to the game it is, it's too slow and not enough zombies. The last 2 eps have especially been a slog to get through...

Agreed, it’s been good but hardly the 9/10 show the critics are talking it up as. I suppose mostly everything we got to watch lately is Dogshit so when we get something decent people lose their shit over it.

Agreed with the general sentiment here. Good show, but I think people are fanboying it hard because a game they love has turned into a quality TV show.

Finished it. It was pretty good overall but I wouldn't watch it again. I went and read the plot of the 2nd game after the last episode and I dont think I'll bother with future seasons honestly.

I really enjoyed the LOU first season with only a couple of very small gripes.

1. is that the second half of the series definitely felt rushed to me.
2. is that I felt that there was a lack of the infected in the back half of the show. Given the ending is very much creating the cure and the utilitarianism dilemma, I think they needed to reiterate a bit more the threat of the infected and why the possible cure is important. That seemed slightly lacking.

I'd still call it a solid 8/10 though.

1883. Sam Elliot lead role along with Taylor Sheridan writing and directing. It’s a prequel to Yellowstone. As the title suggests it’s set in the late 19th Century Wild West frontier of the USA. Well worth watching A+

I finished it. It was ok but had nothing to do with the Yellowstone Ranch. I thought they would show more of how the Duttons got the Ranch.

I also finished 1923 and thought it was a lot better. More fast paced than both Yellowstone and 1883.

I can just see a triggered bro flake calling this 'The Woke Years'.

Anyway, looks all right, loved the original.

I’m a few episodes in and it feels more like “Everybody Hates Chris” than the Wonder years

I guess Everybody Hates Chris is basically the Wonder Years except it was in the 80s. The humour of the rebooted Wonder Years is similar to Everybody Hates Chris

Gone back to watch the X Files on SBS demand, haven’t watched it since the 90s. Has held up really well, if anything better then I remember.

If nobody had jumped on the 'Dave' bandwagon, it's a great show, really funny and also has a good heart as well. If you like absurd humour, it's a good time. Pete Davison just released a show called Bupkis recently which is kinda similar also but I haven't finished it yet.

Watched about 2/3 of Twisted Metal, and it hasn't been too bad, It's kind of low-rent and very quippy but it has decent humour, the action is good and has some fun, gory moments if you like that kind of thing. It seems to be picking up in the second half.
Kind of a The Boys lite or kind of in that realm.

Apple is probably my favourite streamer in terms of quality of shows - I think there's lots of stuff on there, unless you've watched it all of course. The really big dud is Echo 3, awful show (think I've already mentioned it in this thread but will keep doing so as a public service).
