Talking about how good the nrl tv deal will be sure exposes them

There’s literally no reason why a rugby league fan would get upset over the nrl tv deal beating the afl

Ill not be surprised if it does beat it, and it wont upset me at all if it does. Next deal starts several years after the AFL one begins, the AFL one was signed in 2022 and starts next year. the NRL one wont start until 2028. A lot can happen in 5 years and new teams and the rise of the womens game/origin certainly will all help get there.

All im saying is that there are certain market indicators as well as potential gambling reforms that go against it at present, and who knows what new ownership at Foxtel will do, or new leadership at Paramount. Theres a few unknowns that could go either way.

There’s always a negative if you want to look
There would’ve been a negative when the afl did their deal

One big factor is whether Pvl / arl stick to their guns like afl did and not cave like they did last time

Pvl has added those 3 teams precisely to get a bigger tv deal. He would have some idea what those extra teams are worth and also what potentially reducing the season by 2 games would mean

No. The new teams are coming in for the future and to be bigger than Rugby in the Pacific.

The real strength from PNG won't come until they are producing talent and improving their test side

Anyone watched DAZN for anything? Whats their quality and prices like? I see they've made huge losses as they ramp up a global reach strategy. Do they produce the sports themselves (ie do their own footage at games, commentary, sports shows etc) or just broadcast already produced sports?

I only use to it to the American broadcast of the Super Bowl.

Streaming quality is quite good (As always it depends on your internet connection). The user face on Kayo is way more simple and I prefer the look of it more.
