Not sure what your arguing here? Does nrl kill afl in International rights? Yep, great news
does afl kill nrl in Australian tv rights, where 93% of nrls tv value sits? Yep they have smashed us thanks to some really shthouse decisions by Vlandys and the arlc.
When talking about nrl tv deals ignoring sky nz is dumb

They’ve been bidding for other sports

they just bid billions for afl

getting the nrl is a sure fire way of building stan into a rival of foxtel

Yes but nothing is left to buy, They are better off combining with one of the US Streamers wanting to hit the market.

Nobody with even half a brain would do that when the nrl isn’t just an Australian competition
Australian tv is 93% of the nrl rights value, comparing what ch7/fox value afl at to what ch9/fox value nrl at is very relevant I’d suggest.

It’s the argument made by someone who didn’t grow up watching Australian rugby league
Hang on a minute. This is a miserable English migrant living in Perth without an NRL team. You’re not suggesting he’s not being objective are you?

Maybe it’s his lack of understanding of Australia from all his time in east hull

he probably didn’t even know where New Zealand was growing up so the idea of a rugby league team there baffles him

imagine as the warriors were joining the nrl little jb was prowling the streets of east hull trying to make friends

And here is the forum’s biggest wanker whose only contribution is endless misery and complaint. Smell the spite!

I love the way the big turd from Perth tries to take the high moral ground when his contribution here is an agenda of never ending whinging.

Your still comparing a future afl deal with the current nrl deal

you don’t know if the nrl renegotiated early

ok to be fair, there is a current deal in place until the end of 2027, Until that changes, the comparison isnt unreasonable.

There isn’t a 150 million pa difference between the two current deals

the difference is probably 30 million or so

and there’s every likelihood the arlc will redo theirs before the current contract expires and he has no idea what they get to compare with afl

Theres every chance that the networks ask wtf they should renegotiate ahead of the expiry too .

As it stands now the gap is between the NRLs "400m+ pa" and the AFLs 476m per year...but a new AFL deal kicks in much higher than that in 2025.

Vlandys has loads of goodies for them

team 18 (Perth) which adds another metro
More games
Pre season comp
Post season international comp
Expanded nrlw competition

that should be good for a bump of 100 million pa
