Where did you get that figure ? To my knowledge ch 10 offer was never made public but it was an underwhelming bid significantly lower than ch 7. The AFL laughed in thier face and slammed the door.

I'll stick by my original comment. 10 have no money

I'm not a subscriber to that AFL/Rugby news paper ( explains why thier subscriber base is so low ) so I can't read it.

Everything leading up to the 'final 48hrs' was saying ch 10 offer was well below ch 7 offer.

Anyways, I don't understand this obsession comparing AFL and NRL deals, they are completely different vehicles for advertising and therefore will have completely different TV deals.

Cricket begged ch7 who was suing them to come back instead of taking ch 10's bid.

That shows you where they sit

The best thing about this bud is they will heavily. Promote origin esp in fumbler states

this imo could see ratings back towards 4 million per game

No chance of that figure ever again.

Too many other non sport options to get huge ratings

Another article

The parents of Sevens head of sport, Lewis Martin, must have been fans of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin.

Although Sevens bid for origin, looks comical in this moment in time, especially if they partner with Fox and get it cheaply

We got an insight of what ch 7 will do with FTA NRL/Origin rights.

The WWC Aus v Fra halftime had 3 x 5 minute ad blocks with about 45 seconds of content between them. Yikes !
15 minutes of commercials and 2 minutes of panel discussion.

There's next to no breaks in the soccer halves so they have to cram them in. But there's a limit to how many ads FTA channels can show per hour. NRL has enough stoppages so that is unlikely. That said - is anyone really worried about missing a bunch of talking heads yap on for ten minutes?

That's the problem with soccer, the entire country could be watching but if ch 7 can't squeeze in any commercials is it worth anything to FTA channels?

It explains why all major soccer comps around the world are behind a paywalll, and the big clubs have thier own separate pay channels.
