Haha, he’s worth shit loads.
Guessing his extension bumped him up around the $300k mark?
Not bad for an 18yo.
The genuis that extended him until the end of 2020 take a bow.

Dragons Director of Rugby League Pathways and List Management Ian Millward didn't shy away from Lomax's budding prospects in the years to come.

"Zac is one of the most promising players to come through our ranks in many years. He's a player we look at building this team around in the long-term because we think he has all the attributes to be an outstanding NRL player," Millward said.

"We do look at him as a long-term centre and we don't hide that fact at all. Although this is just an extension to 2020, we look at Zac as if he'll be a 10-year player for the Dragons and challenge for higher representatives.
Are we sure Zac isnt Millwards lovechild? Seriously the kid is good but man lets get a few more games under his belt before we wax lyrical about how he is the next immortal....seriously!

Millward hasn't given Zax any special treatment i.e. he never predicted Zac would be our first grade right centre in 2018 or 2019 like he did for Field.

Millward is a loser. An old boy given a job with a title who takes the easy path every chance he gets. In my opinion we were way under the cap this season and desperately need an extra first grade prop or two. Millward looked to do what is easy for himself, front load some contracts and sign a couple of low level contracts to make it easier for himself in season 2019.

Did you read in the paper today, admittedly in the Telegraph, that a supposedly big name, but injury prone centre is being shopped around to other clubs? Apparently this unnamed player is on a pretty good salary but the club must want to move him on. If true could it be Aitken? While he has real weaknesses I would like to hang onto him.

Josh Dugan and Jack Bird come to mind

Wouldn’t surprise me if Mann looked elsewhere for a FG starting spot.

As for Aitken, don’t consider him to be a big name. His main worry is he has now had a few hamstring injuries. So am hoping he recovers over the off season.

Bird and Dugan are certainly injury prone so they are more likely than Aitken to be the subject of the rumour.

Also doubt Aitken is on big coin.

As for Lomax, had he been given an opportunity to play FG earlier in the season, we would already know for sure whether he will have a long FG career.

From my perspective he has all the ingredients of a top class FG player.

Calm under pressure.

Excellent defender.

Necessary physique.

Great offload.

Great presence of mind. Quick thinking.

Excellent step.

Has speed.

Must play FG next season, preferably at center or wing.

I wouldn't want Michael Jennings. He is a big hog, who won't even pass the ball to his brother. I would take Robert Jennings from Souths, as far as I know, he is still unsigned.

Yeah, I thought of Dugan straight away. Bird is obviously another who would fit the criteria.
I think it is actually Dylan Walker or the ex Saints & Manly player at Penrith. Name escapes me ATM. They are both real injury prone

That wouldn’t surprise me if Parra we’re trying to offload him. He’d be on big dollars, as you say. Not good because he has had a massive drop in form. I’ve watched Some games this year his defence has been woeful.

I agree FF, M. Jennings best years seem to be well behind him.....not sure we should risk money on a guy whose career is fading.
I only mentioned MJ in response to the post by Wittenburg re a rumour of a big name centre on big bucks unwanted by his club.
Not suggesting that we should sign him although would have been keen on him a few years back when he was in his prime. He seemed to put some extra good performances against the Saints over the years.

I have read/heard that Parra have been shopping Corey Norman around, but he is on around 900K a season and most clubs are baulking at that price. I have previously suggested that we could and I only said could buy him and play him halfback and move Hunt to hooker. It was only a suggestion and I am very happy with Hunt at halfback, but Norman would be a better game manager. He got his 900K a year contract when he was playing halfback and was even spoken of as being QLD's next halfback at the time. I was never a Norman fan, until I saw him play halfback.

Melbourne's halfback spot has not been cemented. Croft, looked like the air apparent, but failed to live up to expectations. I would not be at all surprised to see Melbourne sign Norman. I think there was even talk mentioning Melbourne being interested in Norman.

Cronk will have to have a shoulder reconstruction. A similar injury ended Peter Sterling's career. There was already talk that Cronk was considering retiring at the end of this year. Will he come back and play one last season? He probably already has a job with Fox on the table too. If he did decide not to play on next year. I think Norman could be a great fit for Easts to replace Cronk at halfback.

I think Norman would look really good at halfback for us, Melbourne or Easts.

I think the lose of Slater will bring Melbourne back to the pack. Right now Easts with Cronk look standouts next year. After that, there isn't any team that stands out from the rest. I think we are 2 or 3 players away from being a standout second pick, but then you could say that about another 8 or so teams in the comp. We need Millward to pull a couple of rabbits (not Souths players) out of his hat.

I agree Max. There was a time, that I would have liked to see Jennings given a run at fullback. He used to be a great attacking weapon, but he was always a bit of a hog. I think he is definitely passed it now.
