Surely the Rams will have to look at a new long term plan now.

But what do they do about this season?? Do they trade for a Kirk Cousins or maybe Ryan Mallet??

Wow. So that's that then, is it not fair to say the Rams will be probably picked top 5 this year and taking a QB in round 1 of the draft

they went 4 and 5 with clemens as qb last season. this is a better team and with hill now as qb they should go over 500. it's a shame because they were contenders with sam.

hill is the qb.

not sure what happens with sam. he's had rotten luck since he was drafted and now that the rest of the team is just about in place he gets injured for the whole year. not sure any team will be willing to pay more than the bare minimum for his services now that he is damaged goods.

i guess he'll have to console himself with the $60m he received from the rams during his stay there.

Hill is 34yrs old... He's an adequate back up.... And can provide great leadership to a rookie QB...

But one thing the Rams have going for them is it's preseason... So they still have time to bring in a longer term option and have him sit behind Hill with the view to takeover as opposed to just waste a season with a 34yr old career back up as your starter and nothing else behind it...

That could be a Garrett Gilbert too.... But from what I've seen he isn't rated very highly by the Rams staff...

hill is all they have. he's been there all off season. he knows the offense. he will be the qb this season.

next year, well, the rams have their work cut out. they have to draft a qb they think can start straight away. they will assess during the year if they think sam can come back and if he will take a huge pay cut. not sure what they will do in the future but this year it will be hill.

Sounds fair. He got 4 games for the subtance abuse, which is pretty consistant, and 5 games for the conduct policy

obviously it would be ridiculous to let him serve them concurrently.

This niners season is going to be VERY interesting. With the Defense missing a few key players, question marks over the secondary, the Harbough to Cleveland thing earlier in the year and the offense looking shakey in the pre season... there is always one team who's season goes completely sideways unexpectedly, the Niners are a sneaky chance to be that team

@DAL - CHI - @ARI - PHI - KC - @STL - @DEN to start the season before a week 8 bye.
Hard to see how they arent at least 5-2 in that run tbh, but if they dropped a few games unexpectedly early, it could all go south pretty quickly

The league openly admitted how poorly they dealt with the rice one, it was surprising to see just how harsh/honest they were on themselves to be honest.

But I do agree that certainly offences should be dealt with a lot harsher than they are - bit like real life I guess.

Itching to see Mallet start so everyone can stop pretending that just sitting at the knee of Brady is all you need to be a franchise QB

Pats traded him because Garoppolo already usurped him as the #2 guy. Mallet is going to a career back up
