_THIS_ is my sort've topic! :D. This will post will probably end up looking a lot like your parents' music collection, but meh, all the really great music was in the 60's and 70's :).

Eric Clapton and subsiduary bands -

John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers - Hideaway

Cream - Crossroads, White Room, Sunshine Of Your Love, Steppin' Out (best guitar instrumental you'll ever here)

Derek And The Dominoes (the two best guitarists of the 60's - Allman and Clapton - in the same band, what a dream match up) - Layla, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?

Solo - Cocaine and Tears In Heaven.

Also,

The Eagles (Hotel California, Life In The Fast Lane), Stevie Ray Vaughan (Lenny, Little Wing), Lynyrd Skynyrd (Freebird, Sweet Home Alabama), Allman Brothers Band (One Way Out, Whippin' Post and Jessica) , Jimi Hendrix Experience (Voodoo Chile, Hey Joe), Led Zeppelin (Stairway :), Bron Yr Aur), Jeff Beck (Beck's Bolero, Train Kept A Rollin'), The Beatles (While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Clapton ;), Gettin' Better and Hey Jude), Van Morrison (Bright Side Of The Road, Please Don't Go), The Doors (Riders On The Storm, Love Her Madly and L.A. Woman), The Rolling Stones (Wild Horses, Jumpin' Jack Flash), Pink Floyd (Interstellar Overdrive, Wish You Were Here and Shine On You Crazy Diamond), Bob Dylan (The Times They Are A Changin', With God On Our Side and Subterrean Homesick Blues), Robert Johnson (Me And The Devil Blues, Sweet Home Chicago), Dire Straits (Sultans obviously :p), The Kinks (You Really Got Me), The Who (My Generation, Sparks), Creedence Clearwater Revival (Bad Moon Rising, Fortunate Son and The Midnight Special), Paul Kelly (Leaps and Bounds, Bradman and To Her Door), Crowded House (Don't Dream It's Over, Instinct and Into Temptation), Split Enz (History Repeats, I Got You and I See Red), Acca Dacca (You Shook Me All Night Long, Dirty Deeds and Long Way To The Top), Cat Stevens (Sad Lisa, Peace Train and Moonshadow), Cold Chisel (Khe Sahn, Flame Trees and Forever Now), Billy Joel (We Didn't Start The Fire, Piano Man), Daddy Cool (Eagle Rock, Daddy Cool), Bob Marley (Jammin', Redemption Song and Buffalo Soldier), Midnight Oil (Short Memory, Power And The Passion and Beds Are Burning), U2 (One, Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and Sunday Bloody Sunday).

*breathes* I love my music :).

Careful :? - it's the Pink Floyd Experience type thing. You know, like FABBA & the Queen one & the Roy Orbison bloke.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be good, but it's not the real thing.

The Pink Floyd Experience

The Pink Floyd Experience is one not to be missed. For hard core Floyd fans it is the light and audio spectacular that you would envision as a fitting tribute to a band who you have grown to love and for those never lucky enough to see Pink Floyd live, this will be your chance to see the interactive spectacular that made them one of the top selling bands of all time. The two albums that changed the history of music will come to life on stage as The Pink Floyd Experience pay tribute to two of Pink Floyd?s biggest selling albums ?The Dark Side of the Moon? and ?The Wall?.

The Pink Floyd Experience presents the largest Pink Floyd tribute ever, breathing life into Pink Floyd?s musical masterpieces. Pink Floyd?s classic sounds still sound fresh and vibrant and are relevant to today?s generations as they were when they first hit the airwaves.

This 3 hour spectacular features the Pink Floyd hits such as ?Money? and the ?The Wall?. Divided into two amazing halves The Pink Floyd Experience takes you on a journey beginning with ?The Dark Side of the Moon? album and concluding with ?The Wall.?

The first half features the entire ?Dark Side of the Moon?. The album, which was written in less than 7 weeks, sold 34 Million copies worldwide. ?Dark Side of the Moon? was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the album spending the most number of consecutive weeks in the charts, 591 weeks (or 11.4 years) on the Billboard Top 200. To do justice to the album The Pink Floyd Experience has created an awe-inspiring audio/visual experience.

The Second half of the journey takes you to ?The Wall?. This theatrical rock opera will capture the imagination as lead singer ?Stan Gratkowski? draws you into the mind and body of a young boy?s spiraling decent into chaotic madness. With a powerful on stage performance Gratkowski?s portrayal as a fascist military dictator backed by loyal henchman as both intimidating and thought provoking.

The Pink Floyd Experience is the longest and biggest touring Pink Floyd tribute production ever. With actors, a huge set, video imagery and a totally new light show. The two million dollar show consists of 21 people and 12 tons worth of gear. The 9 piece band supporting the stars play with intensity and passion as the builders put another brick in the four meter high wall to the sound of blazing guitar solo?s and huge keyboard swells.

31 years after their releases, Pink Floyd?s albums are still among the highest selling albums of any given year. Which is evidence that the public still crave that magic that was created by Pink Floyd. To be able to witness that magic live will be a once in a lifetime event.

Don?t miss your opportunity to remember the amazing sounds and visual effects of Pink Floyd by experiencing The Pink Floyd Experience in the Dark Side of the Moon/The Wall Tour.
Tour Dates
Fri Sep 3 : State Theatre, Sydney
Tue Sep 7 : Civic Theatre, Newcastle
Sat Sep 11 : Royal Theatre, Canberra

One that is rather near and dear to me is What About Me and I'm talking about the ORIGINAL Version. Cause the lyrics are ones I can really relate too.

Well, since I wasn't alive in the 80s, my past musical knowledge isn't great.

However, I do like Khe Sanh-Cold Chisel, and more recently 'Iris' by Googoo Dolls is another song that I like.
