Meh - i madly follow the EPL and always support the socceroos but i never have had any interest in the A-League. They simply failed to capitalize on the Socceroos world cup success and our failure, or robbery as some would put it, of not been able to secure the world cup was a huge nail in footballs future in this country. A whole generation of fans that could have pushed football to NRL/AFL heights was lost but perhaps that was FIFA corruption and we never had a chance.

Football and the A-League will remain a minnow sport with protective mums ensuring huge junior participation.

Unfortunately for some of you, the Jets aren't gone just yet. HSG signed an agreement when they acquired the license which had a legally binding aspect to it which prevented them walking away until June 2020.

Legally, HSG can't walk away.

However I did think it was rather interesting that when HSG acquired the Jets they were wanking on about how important soccer is to the Hunter Valley etc etc etc. And now they want to walk away?
