Those are sh*t flags and you know it.

Why did you post the Nazi flag when you're meant to be of German heritage?

A religious flag represents a religous group, not an ethnic group.
I actually do have a muslim mate and hindu mate, you want their names?
I also have friends of african descent, I guess you want their names too?

Not the sharpest tool in the shed are you? Your whole argument revolves around it's unfair for one group to segretate themselves and discriminate against others by having their own flag. Yet you're happy for the religious to do just that and just about any other group under the sun bar the Aboriginies. What does that tell you?

So you're happy for people to segregate themselves and discriminate others based on creed but not race?

Even though the Nazi flag is banned in Germany?

Nazi flag = self-explanatory

Rising sun flag = used in ww2 against allies

Hezbollah flag = terrorist organisation flag

SFR Yugoslavia flag = flag of a socialist state

I don't know what the last flag is so I have no comment to make on it.

Oh for fugs sake. People have a choice of religion but have no choice on what race they are.

Thanks captain obvious. Discrimination is discrimination whatever form it comes in. It seems you're selective in which forms of discrimination you're against.

So what's yours and everyone else's thoughts on religous flags?

Let them go for it, just like the Aboriginals. As long as a flag doesn't represent hate or violence to others then I don't have a problem with it.

i was born in this country. the nazi flag is nothing but a cloth to me

Nazi flag = self-explanatory
yet it still meets your criteria

Rising sun flag = used in ww2 against allies
what about the french, british, australian, american and russian flags? they were flown in WW2

Yellow and green flag = guns on there which show agressiveness and hatrid. I can't understand arabic so I don't know what the writing means.
guns could also represent self defence. depends which side of the window you look through. one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

it represents Hezbollah btw

SFR Yugoslavia flag = flag of a socialist state
it's not the socialist yugoslav flag at all. it's the flag of the yugoslav partisans who were set up in resistence to the invasion of yugoslavia by the nazi's in world war 2. they were communists and eventually evolved in the yugoslav liberation army

I don't know what the last flag is so I have no comment to make on it.
it represents Harkat-ul-Mujahideen who are a pakistani islamic militia who were set up to fight the USSR invasion of afghanistan in the 80's. they've now evolved into terrorism

no it doesn't.

the japanese fought against australia, that's the only reason why i am against that one.

it looks like the sfr yugoslavia flag. i realise now that the star is larger on the sfr yugoslavia flag than on the yugoslav liberation army

lol. A Wiki source. Read the Flag Act of 1953.

In 1901, the flag was based on the British Red Ensign. On Australian soil it still had to fly lower than the Union Jack.

Yes, religous groups can have their own flags. Religous groups are different from ethnic groups. Do you think they should have their own flag?
I have no problems with the uniting church or any other church having a flag.

I'm not telling certain sections of the community that they are not entitled to a flag, you are.
gunning_for_panthers said:
So the Eureka flag is only a racist flag if used in that manner? Well, the Aboriginal flag is the same.
In my view, they are both good looking flags.
gunning_for_panthers said:
I have no issue with sporting flags, they are in support of a particular team.
Yes... your criteria continues to widen, with aborigines being the your main exception. As long as there is no flag for indigenous folk, you're pretty happy.

The Norfolk Island flag represents a territory of Australia, the Torres Strait Island flag only represents the Torres Strait Islanders.
The Torres Strait Islands flag is a proclaimed flag of Australia. In that regard it is afforded the same respect as the RAN ensign.
gunning_for_panthers said:
The flag of Australia represents ALL Australians, not just an ethnic group.
In theory, yes. But as I said in another thread, I'm not fond the Union Jack being there.

FTR I'm quite proud of Australia and would like to see a new national flag; ie without the flag of another country in the corner.

it was a military flag used as the national flag. it meets two of your specified criteria

the japanese fought against australia, that's the only reason why i am against that one.
so you're one of those so called proud to be patriots who despises anything that went against australia?

it looks like the sfr yugoslavia flag. i realise now that the star is larger on the sfr yugoslavia flag than on the yugoslav liberation army

indeed
