Wondering if Amazon and Facebook have been courted by the IRL? Could finally be the disruptor breakthrough into RL coverage.

It’ll be shown here. Will just come down to $$. Was a dumb choice to sell to a broadcaster no one had ever hear of but our game is super short sighted.

Would be great to sort a deal now though as we’re losing time to promote the tournament

There are reports that a deal has been finalised and will be announced soon. Jon Dutton, the CEO of the event, is quoted to have said “deal is done and announcement is imminent. It’s a good deal. I am looking forward to it being announced”. This is according to Stuart Glendinning, and was emailed out to the Rugby League Uncovered email database following a meeting he had with Dutton.

If they drop it on to normal Stan (rather than Stan Sports) it will reach a decent audience - which would be a good marketing strategy for them to get people signed up.

Kayo is just a crap app so I'd prefer they don't get it.

Been watching the world athletics on kayo, been great, watched it the night after on delay. RLWC can still get a decent audience here if done properly.

Personally, I notice how poor the app is compared to Stan because I often go from watching the rugby on Stan and then switch to the league on Kayo. The picture is always worse, there's more bugs (it always winds up way further behind the live time), it drops down from HD more often.

Although I guess if watched in isolation with old school SD broadcasts in mind then it would be bloody good in comparison.

must admit I’ve not had any problems watching on tv or iPad. Only thing that irks me is It doesn’t remember what you’ve watched or where you was when you stopped so you can’t jump straight back in.

I thought the Kangaroos games were on the anti-syphon list?

No free to air coverage in Australia is very disappointing… I absolutely detest giving any money to Rupert Murdoch but I may have to hold my nose and make the first exception of my life.

Kayo will do those games for free which gets around that

I would expect that there would be talks to on sell the Kangaroos games to a FTA option. Or, I guess they can apply for an exclusion if there are no takers
