As I said yesterday about Cory Bernardi's tweet, if he (and now Miranda Devine) think that Brexit is a good idea, they now have me worried.

Check the Pew research conducted over the last 5 years regarding attitudes across the world to things like sharia law, homosexuality, apostasy etc. The vast, vast majority across the world hold views on these issues that run entirely counter to our western liberal pluralism.

The problem we have here is that lefties will point to some inner-city Western "moderate" (read: watered down (read: false)) Muslim and call everyone bigots based on the tiniest minority they can find. It is, after all, how they roll.

Nah, it's simply b/c the freedom of movement within the EU applies to EU citizens, and the vast majority of them aren't Muslims. Much simpler reason.

Most of the historical Islamic migration to the UK has absolutely nothing to do with the EU. It has to do with the the former British empire. Britains muslims are largely from Bangladesh / Pakistan and northern India, and moved there following Indian independence (i.e well before the UK joined the common market and eventually the EU).

Oh, I don't really care either. Probably suits my own direct interests. There's just going to be some very disappointed people in the north of England when they discover that their employer has lost their contracts to supply firms/govts on the continent, and they no longer have a job. Won't happen immediately, but it is going to hit them very hard. They'll have to find someone else to blame I guess.
