Just did a scan of youtube for some interesting content. FMD there's some shit on there. It's getting harder to sort the wagyu from the guernseys. Still, I've heard Tik Tok is a lot worse and I have no desire to test that opinion.

I've read so many conspiracy theories about tik tok. It's Chinese social media and China's way of spying on everyone who loads the app as its asks for access to all parts of your device and lets just say their record on spying sort of well known.

been told by so many people never to load the app, not that I have any military secrets

without being connected to Chinese servers who want to know where we get out Uber Eats from, also you can express anti Chinese govt views on Chrome

Facebook is blocked in China, Tik Tok is their only social media I believe and its strictly moderated

Yeah, in one the Chinese government knows what you're up to, in the other two it's a large corporation that has all that data.

The only real difference is gonna be in the way they exploit it. But in the end, exploit it they will.

yeh, one uses it to target how they market their adds on sites on which you post, and the Chinese govt, well that has been used to incarcerate people who speak ill of the regime, or so it goes, not that we will ever be able to source that as the Chinese govt dont exactly advertise what they do

Plenty of these state sponsored hackers have side hustles in cyber crime.

no doubt

Most of our software suppliers could own us if they wanted to, especially OS and browser vendors.

but....but...they have a privacy policy, which means all your personal data is kept private, only their private workforce has access to it

Obviously there is legislation enforcing a measure of privacy, and in organisations that big there is always the chance of whistleblowers revealing criminal behaviour.

But theoretically they could absolutely own your entire life. There are no real technical limitations. Even end-to-end encryption only works if there's no backdoors on your device.

Norman Cohen with Melbourne Cup.jpg
RIP Might & Power
Was at Caulfield the day he won the Caulfield Cup. Most AMAZING win..

Greg Hall on Doriemus said after the race "I came to the turn and thought we had hit the front, but looked down and there was another horse (M & P) about ten lengths ahead of us"....

I backed it in the Melbourne Cup...another strong and gutsy win..
Might and Power , and Vo Rogue...two fantastic front running champions.
Parramatta legend Basil Cohen's father Norm Cohen, owned Lord Fury which led from go to whoa to win the 1961 Melbourne Cup (ridden by Ray Selkrig).
Norm slung Ray a hundred quid for riding the winner, to which Ray said "Can you give it to me in a cheque please"...Mr Cohen asked him "Why?"
Ray replied "When I tell the Taxation Office that I rode the Cup winner and the owner gave me a hundred quid, they won't believe me"...True story....
Basil Cohen was a legend at Parramatta, particularly at Cumberland Oval, where he sold Doubles on first try scorers walking around the ground...He was a good friend, an an amazing Club man.
RIP Bas (never forgotten)

Norman Cohen with the Melbourne Cup won by Lord Fury (1961)

We give it to them and agree for them to use it. The legislation only limits some of the usage we can be asked to agree to.

There is certainly a push to make it illegal to get hacked, but plenty see this as victim blaming. Only a dope would think this type of thing is all black and white.
