I was actually going to using the multimeter as an easy way to discharge the capacitor. But I have to find the right connections first. Have done with coffee grinders before, so I know the essential steps.

Just buy a new machine imo. As soon as one thing goes the rest will follow.

a mega is better cuz it provides a greater charge, multi metre not so much, but it should slowly open circuit as it takes the charge

you just don't see capacitors around much any more as they are all permanent magnet DC motors (plug motors) now days

I reckon the average millennial sparky wouldn't know how to test a capacitor

Here comes the capacitor expert. My bet is it isn't even the capacitor and Barry won't be able to fix but instead will buy a new machine.
Whitegoods are built to last 7yrs so you purchase a new one. Just accept it and keep the system going. It is all about the economy. Keep it rolling ffs.
Buy new and spend more money and keep working motherf**kers

Our LG washing machine started going haywire after 7 years. I googled the problem, best answer was pull the computer board out, clean it, replace it then give the washer a good old fashioned kick. Worked a charm and that was well over a year ago. Think of the environment, loaded111.

Oh Jesus, don't give me a challenge. This one's 9 years old, but hardly ever used (maybe 10 times a year, for 30 minutes?). But for $15 I can try the new capacitor....and then buy a new dryer.

Anyone got any tips for chaffing. Brtween thighs and front part of anus. I could barely walk this afternoon. I was all chaffed up. I sprinkled baby powder but unsure if this is the best solution?
