Oh I only use the thing to finish off the clothes in winter....but when the fog doesn't lift here til midday the temperature sits below 3 degrees and doesn't get a lot of drying done before it starts to get cold again.

IT'd be a good 10 years old. You'd normally hear the belt though. Gonna take the back off tomorrow and have a look.

If it's the belt, the drum will spin more freely by hand as you don't have the resistance of spinning the motor. You should be able to feel it hand rotating the drum,

only if the motor bearings are shot, otherwise there should not really be much resistance

There's plenty of resistance in the drum if I try to spin it by hand.

Now.....to find the multimeter in the back shed......
