Plus I think they're American so they quite possibly shoot people who say that to their face...

Then they'll deny the shooting ever happened, and that it was just a plot by Obama to ban guns.

Woman who believes Sandy Hook conspiracy theory charged with threatening parent of murdered child

Miami: In the latest episode over the proliferation of conspiracy theories and the people who believe them, a Tampa woman who thinks the Sandy Hook school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, was staged has been charged with threatening a parent of one of the slain children.

The woman, Lucy Richards, 57, faces four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. Richards sent four messages in January that said things such as "You gonna die. Death is coming to you real soon", according to an indictment made public on Wednesday.

Richards' belief "that the school shooting was a hoax and never happened allegedly motivated her to make the charged threats", the US attorney's office in Miami said. Each charge carries a maximum five-year sentence upon conviction.

According to the indictment, the threats were sent to a parent identified only as "LP". The initials are an apparent reference to Lenny Pozner, whose son, Noah, was the youngest of 20 children murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School four years ago.

Mr Pozner, who now lives in Florida, dedicates himself to unmasking the various conspiracy theorists who blog about Sandy Hook and suggest that the Obama administration orchestrated the massacre using actors to further a gun-control agenda.

The conspiracy theorists have criticised Pozner and his counter-investigations of their work. Mr Pozner has filed complaints with law enforcement, private companies and the attorney-general's office. He even wrote a 165-page book raising questions about a champion of the hoax theory, according to a September article in New York magazine.

"People don't understand what trolls are," Mr Pozner told the magazine. "If you don't feed them, they don't just go away."

When Mr Pozner asked a Florida Atlantic University professor, James Tracy, to stop posting photos of Noah, the professor sent him a certified letter asking for proof that the boy existed, Mr Pozner wrote in an essay in The Sun-Sentinel newspaper last year.

The professor, who was tenured, was soon fired, and he blamed Mr Pozner.

Tracy, a communications professor who taught classes including one on the "Culture of Conspiracy", is suing to get his job back. On his blog, he recently complained that WordPress, which had been hosting his blog, suddenly kicked him off the site.

Mr Pozner declined to comment.

Conspiracy theories and phony news have become a major issue in the weeks since Donald Trump was elected president.

Facebook has been blamed for providing a platform for the sharing of wild, made-up articles that misinformed the electorate. The company, along with Google, recently announced plans to block websites known for publishing false news from using online advertising networks.

Early this week, a North Carolina man showed up armed at a Washington pizzeria, bent on rescuing children held in sexual slavery. The restaurant, Comet Ping Pong, had been the subject of conspiracy theories on the internet insisting that Hillary Clinton's campaign operatives were running a child sex ring out of the restaurant.

Mark Barden, whose seven-year-old son Daniel was killed at Sandy Hook, said he had never been threatened by or even encountered any of the conspiracy promoters.

"It's terribly offensive, but I know it happens after tragedies," Mr Barden said. "If only Sandy Hook had never happened. It would be the answer to my prayers."

I read an interview with a dad who lost his son. He had coffee with a hoaxer. He had a photo album school reports and items from his memorial. The merkin swore at him called him an actor and said that he wanted the kid exhumed and even then the gov could stage it.

I used to frequent conspiracy forums and you see this with every event that happens now.

9/11 for example, I posted about knowing someone who lost an Aunt on one of the planes (the Pentagon one) and was saying how weird it was that they got her wallet back without as much as a scuff mark on it and I was hounded about being an agent to spread fake accounts of what happened and that I didn't know someone because there weren't any crashes and the people they said died were never on the planes etc.

I'm someone who can entertain conspiracy theories and there were weird things with 9/11 but the holographic planes and the controlled demolition etc. are too far fetched.

After Sandy Hook was about the time I lost interest because of all that hoax stuff.

I don't buy into conspiracy theories either.

However when it comes to the world stage, I concede that I was astonished about the revelation that there were never any weapons of mass destruction (Iraq) and that they made shit up to justify an invasion.

Then there was the astonishing US led intervention at Kosovo (and the bombing of Belgrade), which was never about humanitarian aid but more about wrestling Kosovo out of the hands of Yugoslavia so they can install the Trans Balkan Oil pipeline and US base Bondsteel now with 7,000 US soldiers.

No doubt about it that US Presidents come and go, yet the big decisions are made in a boardroom somewhere in the Pentagon, with many of these decisions having astonishing repercussions.

His name was Clinton ... and his actions back then probably had a small roundabout affect on helping your buddy Trump get in .... they built a statue of Bill in Albanian

US intervention around the world isnt conspiracies, its very real and very strategic ... its why the world either hate or think yanks are dicks

And Bush before him re: WMD

My point is that things happen for different reasons and we don't always get told the real reason.

Stoked, there must be a god somewhere.

Was looking at getting a Webber/charcoal kettle, but was looking for a cheapie first on gumtree / eBay first to see if it's worth doing.

Been looking for a few weeks with not much luck. Wasn't planning to go the shops yesterday, but had to as my daughter lost a shoe (don't know how) and needed a pair for her dance concert in the afo.

Driving home on the side of the road was a Webber. A bit dirty but nothing a good clean won't fix.

Stoked !! Glad my daughter lost her shoe (she only needed a cheap $5 pair from K-Mart) !!

Funny story, yesterday I put my Weber out front so I could clean it in the gutter, ducked back out back to get hose, and FMD came back to find some asshole driving off with it. Don't suppose you'd be willing to sell yours?

Ha ha !!

Lol.

Had that happen once with a lawn mower. He was lifting into the back of his ute when I came out of the house. He gave it back and was very apologetic about it but it made me think twice about leaving anything outside.
