Rather then a holiday I am having Monday off for 3mths. But also will take two weeks off over Christmas and hope to go to Japan or Bethlehem to see baby jesus next year

I had every Wednesday off for 3 months about 25 years ago. It was great, 2 days work, 1 day off, 2 days work, 2 days off. You never really got into the whole working week.

I'd like to when the right job comes along. I'm on a good wicket up here but I dont really enjoy the lifestyle.

Also, we have a very old dog that we cant leave so having long weekends and holidays is impossible. When that changes and we can get away every now and then I might last a bit longer.

I shouldn't complain. Its not terrible. My biggest problem has always been that I project into the future rather than enjoying the here and now.

You can't have someone come in and look after the dog whilst your away? I had a cat that had diabetes the last couple of years of her life (she passed away last year), and needed insulin injections twice a day. When I went away I found someone who was a former vet who did pet feeding to come and feed her and give her insulin.

Speaking of animals with diabetes, im gonna bet these racoons will soon enough. Look at the size of em. This guy feeds em hotdogs (processed sauages), cookies, marshmallows .... lol

It is a large part of the reason why I probably won't get another pet, they are quite restrictive if you want to go away anywhere, which I like to and plan to do more. I also missed and worried about my cat was OK when I went away. I think I would be the same with any pet.

When I was a young bloke with no responsibilities I went about a year without working Fridays. Thursday nights sleazing around North Sydney, what a time to be alive.

These days I’d prefer Wednesdays off. We have a bloke who managed to jag Wednesdays off. He works from home half the day and the other half day is covered by the extra hour he works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I reckon he gets the same amount done in nine hours as he does in eight.

I worked at an army base where merkins were banned from feeding the Kookaburras. One of them was so fat it couldn’t fly.

I like taking Mondays off. But I also occasionally have to work Saturdays or Sundays. But when works slow Mondays the day I love to be home while every other merkin is starting their week.
Ideal for me is to work Tuesday -Thursday. 3 days would be ideal.
