That woodwork class was pointless. I have never needed to build anything with wood at any stage since.

Well you can earn money other ways any pay someone to do that. I on other hand have decked out my courtyard and handcraft guitar amps. But I lack the patience and social skills to deal with people at a high level

I feel having a creative outlet is important. Many people I know don't have any hobbies and they end up just drinking a lot instead.

It was relocated multiple times in accordance with this plan.

Trust me on this issue. I'm very familiar with the subject.

If I consider all of the flora and fauna that we have f**ked with over many years (and continue to f**k with), injustices to crocs just don't seem as significant.

That said, I'd be happy if we didn't have to kill any of them. But the original premise that there is indiscriminate killing of crocs because locals are intolerant f**kwits is a grossly inaccurate sterotype by someone with all care and no responsibility.
Relocate him to The Kimberley in WA. That’ll show him.

So his life is more important than the lives of the hundreds of other animals he ate to get that big? Him not eating them was critical in keeping them alive, yet he didn't give a f**k, and neither do you.
I think there is an essential difference.

His meals of smaller animals are being consumed in the course of nature.

His own end was caused by humankind considering his existence to be inconvenient to their leisure activities.

Somewhat aggravated by the fact that Wally the fisherman and selfish surfers had another 13, 499 kms of coastline in which to pursue their wants.

I doubt croc involves himself in “thrill kills” and he consumes his prey for survival sustenance.

Neither Wally the fisherman or the surfers needed to have him killed to survive. Therefore, crocs murder was uncalled for.

And as I said, no due legal process for croc either.

Crocs are quite intelligent and important to the ecosystem.

Crocs in captivity know when they are going to fed, so perhaps they can consider the intent of others, some limited ability of empathy.

If he can ponder the ramifications of his own life and death, I would posit that he would conclude that he would rather be alive. Once again, I rely on his innate survival instinct as a driving force in his reptilian contemplations.

This factual account below suggests that crocs can develop feelings of empathy and affection for others.

So the argument that crocs are not mindful of other intentions and “vibes” may be incorrect.

Enjoy:

Is it any different to other animals removing threats from their territory? That’s what the humans did. As Gary said, they tried to relocate him. Did the dopey merkin keep coming back? Welcome to natural selection, merkin. Should’ve stayed in crocodile territory.

Animals also stay away from danger and that could have been a good the idea for the Fisherman and surfers. They had far less of a right to be there than croc.

We had the power to remove him peacefully and with his croc life intact.

If Croc had known the grave danger he was putting himself into, he might have stayed away. I doubt he would have knowingly committed suicide by coming back. That doesn’t follow.

He wasn’t a Merkin either but a croc just doing his thing.

Again, there was simply no need for his state sanctioned murder.

If he kept returning and posed a threat, he could have been relocated to a park or sanctuary somewhere. Easily done and I’m sure many people would have helped financially. I would have.

Everyone is happy to take the benefits of nature, such as the fish and surf but not prepared to give back and modify their leisure activities so croc could do his thing in peace.

It seems to me it’s just a matter of time before another unsuspecting beast arrives to claim the vacated precinct.

What is Wally and the surfers going to do then?

How many crocodiles need to be taken out to ensure that these people can get on with their non essential entertainment and frolics in an area they don’t actually need to be in anyway.

Its disrespectful to call him a Merkin. He was a fellow creature travelling with us during our life span. He did nothing to hurt or harm us and he contributed ecologically.

This is a very bad thing that we can’t undo. We need to own up and prevent a reoccurrence. Do something constructive with it.

Crocodiles don't care about rights. It is a human idea. The insanity of animals that have been able to develop ideas like rights, and prioritisation of predator species over their own is a f**king horror show at cosmic scale. Please don't drag the murder lizard into this. If he was in any way capable of understanding what you're talking about he would laugh at you.

Right now I am just thinking of what I prefer between a pickled onion or gherkin.

Like with inflation coming I am at a point I need to cut back on luxury items. And neither of these are a necessity.
But on a salad both can be quite desirable items. Almost the feature item. It's quite the dilemma

Well on that argument we may as well kill every animal in the world.

We’ve already driven large number of animals to extinction for no reason.

Because humans have the power over the life and death of animals then it’s well within our ambit to afford them rights.

There’s plenty of legislation about dogs etc and we include animal protection orders in Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders here in NSW as a standard.

The studies done on animals of higher intellect clearly show that they can make decisions that are sentient and in their bests interests.

Exhibit A:

Fish may not be too clever, but we can recognise and give them rights so the oceans aren’t fished out,

Same with many other endangered species.

We look after our children and babies too and they might not have a handle on appropriate care and protection legislation.

Why? Most of them aren't a threat. In fact many of them are delicious and we need to keep them around so we can eat their children and grandchildren.

I think your display of logic here shows how much thought you've likely given to this crocodile's death. I'd say you just like crocodiles and dislike Queenslanders who go to the beach, and those are the only two facts that matter to you.

A lot of animals wouldn't be given a life at all if we didn't plan to eat them. Is it better to have lived a short life then not of existed at all. I guess that is the question.

I think you may be better off addressing the arguments I have made and not rely upon attributing values and beliefs that I may or may not hold.

I have repeatedly said that Wally and the surfers had 13,499 kms of beautiful Queensland coastline they could have used for their entertainment and enjoyment instead of taking up crocs relatively small and modest natural environmental precinct…that he inhabited by choice.

I don’t think that my nomination and support of 13, 499 kms of a suitably alternative coastline would lend itself to the proposition that I dislike Queenslander beachgoers. Quite the opposite inference may have been drawn and indeed was my intent.
