Use guys still talking about the weather?

Yes its hot..... Hindy111 broke the record and was part of history. The end.
I can pm the story. Write a book of how tough it was and how i survived. This elite specimen can survive in 55 degrees. All you softies havent been tested. Hindy111 is ready for sale.
Don't listen to the critics, Hindy. IMO it's the greatest thing you've ever done.

Good luck with that. Seven weeks to fix air con seems absurd.

Yup.

Needed to get three separate quotes.

Then, the company repairing the unit needed to order parts.

Meanwhile, we're working in an environment where you get dehydrated within minutes of sitting in the office - and that is no hyperbole.

Questions have been asked of these policies.

What does that say about 1939 though?

I don't deny climate change but it is odd that the earth goes through cycles but we tend to ignore the past, even when we say "the hottest/coldest day for 100 years" we miss the point that at some point in history it has been just as hot or cold.
Neither of them really say much about climate change. They're just evidence of two bloody hot days.

If you're lucky maybe someone will get taken to hospital suffering heatstroke. Then they might get a wriggle on.

Yeah. And it might be. But I doubt any reputable climate scientist would claim that one or two days is statistically significant.

I agree by the way, I have just seen a fair few comments the last 2 days about it (on social media) and was just wondering what people thought is all.

It's a case of people not understanding the difference between climate and weather.

Here's neat graphic capturing last week's truly shocking statistics of the risk in sending children to catholic schools between 1950 and 2010.

7%. Can we trust what the Catholic Church hierarchy say, when they say they're now on top of this (alleged) kiddy fiddling problem...would you risk it for your child?

They have a dyson one that cools in summer and heats in winter ... if i didnt think that only wankers have such expensive fancy looking shit i might get one

I was said wanker for one day before Christmas. It was rubbish. I figured it was about ten times the price of a pedestal so at least five times as effective. Nope. Ordinary.
I took it back to bing lee the following day and replaced it with a $50 pedestal. I've since spent the difference betting on slow horses.

I would simply refuse to work in those conditions. Our office A/C was a bit dodgy about a year ago and when it reached 30-odd inside we were allowed to go and finish the day working from home until it was fixed. 50 degrees is ridiculous and dangerous. And 7 weeks to fix the A/C - your boss should be f**king hung drawn and quartered for allowing that situation to drag on... What's the merkins name? I'm gonna go on linked in and give him an endorsement for cruelty....

I agree with everything you've said.

But I'm new to the role, and am struggling a bit in it, and so I'm reluctant to make too many waves.

However, I have told them that the conditions here are unacceptable.

I even put in a claim for an extra paid day's off, as I got home on Friday, and I had cotton mouth and blurry vision.

They have agreed to give me three days off next week, at full pay, not coming out of my annual leave or from my sick days.
