because the office is all glass, abd it cops the morning and midday sun, it cannot cope.
couldn't you put up a tarp or something to block the sun?

Was your thermometer in the sun? Cos 54° is insane. And arguably inhumane.Unfortunately, no - there's nowhere to hang it from.
Plus the boss would whinge that it blocks the corporate colours...
Justifies celebrating with a beer I reckon.Sydney breaking 100 year heat record is on CNN right now.

Yes its hot..... Hindy111 broke the record and was part of history. The end.
I can pm the story. Write a book of how tough it was and how i survived. This elite specimen can survive in 55 degrees. All you softies havent been tested. Hindy111 is ready for sale.
Good luck with that. Seven weeks to fix air con seems absurd.Believe it or not, it was in the shade.
The lift in our building has an arm that alerts you when it's too hot - the alarm was ringing all day!
I've asked for window tinting, which is on the agenda.
I know it's weird quoting one's own posts, but I just want to make a further comment.
Penrith broke it's all time record today, but records only go back 20 years as the Penrith AWS only goes back 20 years. It was set up at the Regatta centre for the Olympics back in '96 or '97.
Sydney metro's highest temp belongs to Richmond RAAF base and is 47.8.
I think it was back in 1939.
There's a good chance that Penrith was also hotter than today on that day, but there are no recorded records to prove it, hence today's record.
