When I was a teenager I read Paul Ehrlich and would have described myself as left leaning. As I got a job and got older I called bullshit on a lot of what the left had to say. Went on to largely vote Liberal and admired Howard's leadership when it was unfashionable to do so.
Now I am in a quandry. I deal with a lot of left leaning greens and conservation groups in my line of work. I despise their methods and their ideologies. They are destroying a lot of what I feel is important.
But on the other side, this new breed of alt-right f**ksticks give me the atomic blood shits as well. Sanctimonious little f**ken cretins that I would love to smack endlessly with a wet newspaper until they woke up to themselves.
In short, this country and world we live in is completely f**ked. Where did all the sensible people go?
I'm about to head out for the day but this post has really got me thinking. You make some really good points. Not a bad post.
Is it just a reflection of our society? I don't want to oversimplify things to the point of stupidity but we've obviously become narcissistic little twats. The rise of social media (I know...oversimplification...) and our ever increasing wealth are producing generations of f**kwits.
Both sides of the political spectrum breed selfishness - with victimisation on the left and greed on the right both having a foundation of inflated entitlement.
And so what we have lost is the art of discourse. Not that long ago, during Howard's tenure, there was actually pretty decent discourse between the left and right but that's obviously as dead as the f**king dodo.
Is this just a natural thing that we need to overcome? Has our technology given us myopia, inflated by the wealth of the west?
Personally, I believe this has been consciously manufactured amongst us to divide us - what I call social balkanisation - but I know almost everyone else in the world thinks I'm crazy in that regard, so...

Or maybe he just remembered that dear old Mum ignored him when he told her what stepdad did to him when she was out.Like in the never ending story. He has the chance to rebuild fantasia and create his new world and reality after going through the darkness of nothingness.
Instead of bringing back his dead mother who he misses he choses revenge and scares the bullies who haunted him.
People are only a reflection of what they see right? So if you see selfish people then well your falling into the trap of darkness or nothingness.
You get too see and view the world how you want. Create your own fantasia. Has the world created selfish people, Or have you created them in your own mind?
I am sure your smart enough to see where I am going with this. But your calling out people with wealth f**kwits and selfish. Why was it their fault that was the seed put into there head. I am sure they also go through nothingness and wonder wtf is the point of it all while realizing we are all the same. I bet they have as many ups and downs with the added stress of a reputation, ego and status to keep up..
There life is no more important then yours. They end up as nothing as well but probably struggle with the thought more once they realise what they have become.
Anyhows your blaming someone else for from what I can see is your own problems with society. And it is kind of sounding like a Never ending Story

Thanks Haynzy. Will do.@Hollywood Jesus and @Gary Gutful, you guys need to listen to Jordan B Peterson’s podcast. Interesting stuff that focuses on what you guys are talking about. He can be a bit of a snippy merkin too which makes him even more interesting.
