What do you guys think of the new Mazda CX9 due here in early 2016? 7 seater. 2.5 litre Skyactiv petrol turbo. I reckon it looks amazing.

It seems to be pretty monochrome, Avenger. And it seems to make beautiful beaches turn grey. Not for me.

I like Mazda Baz, Had a CX7 Turbo. Gave me some issues towards the end but it drove so well. Miss that car. Got totally emasculated when I replaced it with a f**king Nissan Dualis.

it looks like the cx-5, which looks like the mazda 6, which looks like the mazda 3, which looks like the mazda 2 ;-)

it has a bit more zing on the lower front - and nice shoes ..... I actually like the mazdas - tho I don't like the screen in the middle of the dshboard the 6 and 3 has - it looks like someone just bluetacked their ipad to the dash

Yeh. One of my mates has a CX7, and it's a very nice machine. I don't spend much time in the car (my 2006 Honda has 40,000kms on it).

Is it the same powerplant as the Mazda3 and Mazda6, though?

Because if it is, it might not have enough power to move the bigger unit.

if its a turbo then I assume it'll have a bit more balls than the cx-5/6/3

I know someone who got a Honda H-RV recently .... if anyone wants a small SUV then I reckon its a goer - it is the roomiest small-ish car I've ever been in (and I'm 6'3")

That 2.5L is a good engine - I have it in my 3 -, but at its current state of tune (125 kw and 250 Nm), it's probably too small for a big seven-seater.

It's based on the 6 and CX5 which has 138kw. With a turbo it is reported to have well over 200kw and over 400Nm of torque. Will have its world premiere at the LA motor show next month.

Definitely. Need to replace the Dualis by January/February. It's been a good car, a little small, very reliable but reminds me of a disposable razor blade. Just does it's job.

PS Never get a CVT gearbox, sounds like a whiny lawnmower.

I was looking at that as my 2nd car but dont like the engine config. I'll look at it again if the Turbo Diesel comes out.
