Got to feel for daine laurie. Really sad way for his season to end.

Hopefully its not to bad and he can make a full recovery.

Injuries like that can really kill your confidence. Only have to look at what happened to cartwright after he broke his leg. Was never the same.

Was very impressed with Maguire at the press conference he did speak very well and compossed. Can't be said for some of the others ie ricky, the over rated trent robinson .

Eels are such a shit team. Pumped by a reserve grade Roosters side. Atleast when Storm pump us it will be the best team in the competition at near full strength doing the winning.

Eels are the best flat track bullies in the business and it gets them into the finals. But theyre so far off being a contender it's ridiculous for a side running top 4.
Tedesco, Tupou, Manu, Morris, Walker, Hutchison, JWH, Verrills, Liu, Crichton, Toupouniua, Radley, Lam, Taukeiaho. Reserve graders. Right.

There is not a player in the Roosters 17 who would not get a game in most other NRL first grade teams. A few of them could get a game in our team or even the Storm.

It just goes to show what a squad they were able to assemble in the first place under the same cap that applies to the Bulldogs and Tigers.

Eels miss Moses and certainly missed RCG and Waqa when they went off. Their depth is poor, as is to be expected with chequebook teams.

For a beaten coach Todd Payten was impressive too, considering the way his side was reamed by the whistlemen.

Billy Smith
Luke Keary
Nathan Friend
Boyd Cordner
Lindsay Collins

They have good depth. But some of those guys you mentioned would not get a run elsewhere unless injuries hit. Who the hell would want Lam or Hutchinson in their team unless they had no other option?

Hutchinson and Walker were both reserve graders at the start of the year. Although Walker has clearly jumped lam to partner Keary. The upside of many injuries is being forced to re-evaluate the pecking order of players when the First choice ones aren't performing.

Obviously calling them reserve graders is an exaggeration. But the fact remains they have been smashed by injury and Eels lost to what is a pretty weak Roosters side. Its still a decent side but not close yo the top 4 premiership threat side they would be at full strength

Robinson overrated? This year alone disproves that
Has always had a great roster to work with, yes they are doing well with the injury list but they still field some of the best players in the comp. You get a great leg up when you can stretch the cap like they do as well. When he can take an average team and make them great then it can be said. Can't hold a candle to Bellamy, Cleary, Sheens, Bennett etc.

It's not who's missing that matters, it's who is out there. Half of those blokes wouldn't make a full strength side.
Luke Keary, Brett Morris, Nathan Friend, Boyd Cordner and Lindsay Collins are all definitely in a full strength side.

Josh Morris had lost his place in the side to some of those guys who wouldn't make a full strength side and only got back in through injury.

You threw duds like Lam and Hutchinson in as if they're starters elsewhere and question whether these guys would even be in the team?

Ivan isn't a great coach. Passable at best

Lam and Hutchinson are back ups. But they're still better backups than most sides have. If the Roosters have a weakness, its in the halves.

I think one thing we can agree on is that it is insane the number of quality players they are able to fit under the cap, especially with the area they occupy being the most expensive place to live in the country.

What robinson has done is remarkable. I dont care what roster he has. To be decimated like they have and still be competitive is incredible.

Robinson is similar to bellamy. Hes a coach that truly can get the best out of all his players.

Some of those "reserve graders" probably look like reserve graders in pther systems.

At the storm and chooks they look like genuine firsr graders.

Cleary has done a great job with us but you only have to look at how weve performed in games without our stars.

I still think the chooks can cause a bit of damage in the finals. They will be under dogs and written off and thats not a bad place to be..

I agree, think the Roosters have done really well to be where they are and if and when the season does continue, they will be dangerous opponents even allowing for the fact they are without keys players.

The NRL really is a brutal sport. Daine Laurie broken leg, Kotoni Staggs MCL, Shaun Johnson hammy. Season ending injuries, we’ve had our own issues, it’s a tough gig.

I hope the Storm put the Sea Eagles to the sword tonight.

They are in the box seat for top spot so wouldn’t mind them giving the Sea Eagles a touch up.
