Not sold on the Roosters yet...

I had a good feeling leading into this game the sharks would win (and I never have a good feeling about them ever).

Roosters were due for a loss an it's the best time to do it - 2 weeks from finals. Will give them a wake up call and they can take time to rectify before finals.

Word.

We can take a lot from this evening's loss. I trust that we'll be better for it.

And Paul Gallen exhibits leadership by whinging about headbutts from Origin series 2 years prior??
You mean 2 rucks prior?

Gallen is by no means the model captain. In my eyes he had a brief hiatus as a grub due to phenomenal 80 minute Origin performances, the credibility of which diminishes day by day. Even Ennis is showing Gallen up as a captain these days.

Can any Roosters fans can deny that the better team won? And I'm NOT talking about the Roosters fans that have already admitted it!

I can sure if a couple of calls went the other way I think we may have been able to turn it around but overall sharks were too good for us.

We were really missing Boyd cordner tonight though hope he's back soon.

Was a close game where one side dominated the first 40 and the other the second. Ultimately the difference between a grandstand finish and a safe Sharks win was a debateable video-ref call.

Good time for the Roosters to get the wake up call and pretty impressive to see them get dominated for the first time in ages, and come out in the second half and totally dominate and display their own ability to score points quickly when needed.

No the better team won. Sharks at home especially on Monday night is usually a tough game. Congrats to them.

I won't hold that loss against the Roosters. The refereeing was appalling, and playing in that swamp with booing fans and a lopsided penalty count is not easy. Souths lost a very similar game

Every home crowd does this but the Sharks fans take it as a personal challenge to boo the most for no reason. Every time their player got tackled they booed, oh well good on them I suppose.

Agree, the better team won.

Agree with this also.

Well there are heaps of Roosters fans that are sore losers, however, the ones in this thread who have conceded that the better team won, I offer you a sincere respect+.

I agree, it was deafening on the TV.

The whole game reminded me of when we played Sharks, they pumped us in the first forty and the second half we came back but there was just an avalanche of momentum killing penalties while Cronilla clung to the lead

Got to give them credit they know how to get under the skin of teams and in the ear of the ref, especially at home

I am another - no question the Sharks deserved it, but geez there were some "what if" moments imo.

Anyway, we'll be better for it and probably needed that kicking after a pretty soft 8 weeks.

well said... a fair appraisal of the game from a neutral.

the roosters were ambushed and should never had conceded so many points in the first half, regardless of the dud calls they received.

never stopped trying and while the roosters were trying to win, cronulla were trying not to lose.

some very dubious calls though, especially the disallowed try early in the second half which mysteriously awarded a penanlty to cronulla even after they had knocked on.....

sheck suplexed on his head (pomeroy)drops ball backwards, cronulla knock on, sharks ball
pearce rightly questions ref

things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm

the NRL we get the granstand finish to the season that they craved

advertising revenue bonanza

There is a lot of money being bet on the Roosters now that their odds have softened a bit. They are at $3.70 up from $3.50 to win the GF. Some people might think that Uncle Nick knows how to keep the Ibrahims happy. :D

I don't know. I'd say souths fans are worse.

If the NRL get the Round 26 Minor Premiership match, it should go live into ALL states on 9, not just NSW. Man that will be a game for the ages. I can't recall a time something like this has happened.

There isn?t really an ?if? at the moment. The only way it won?t happen is if Souths lose to Wests and roosters beat Titans. Even a roosters loss and souths win would still mean the match is for the MP

the sharks we definitely better. They made more metres, missed less tackles, made more linebreaks... all those things that you'd expect from a team dominating their opposition.

oh hang on a tick, the Roosters actually led all those stats :p

4 tries all, game decided on penalty kicks. bit tough to label either team better when its that even.
